Week\Fruit: 32! No idea what the fruit is, but it's scaring me how close to the end we are getting... I am not ready to have two kids!
Recent\Upcoming appointments: I have an appointment this afternoon. I'm hoping to find out that baby is no longer breech... we'll see.
Symptoms: Heartburn. Can't get comfortable at night. Braxton Hicks which are much closer to feeling like real contractions than they were with L.
Rants\Raves: Not much to rant or rave about... DH is working on a construction project in our basement so that our "computer room" can move out of the spare bedroom and down there, and that's coming along, but it's going to be a while before we can make L's big girl room. I'm betting DD2 will arrive first.

GTKY (stolen from the weekend ladies): what's one thing you want to either change or continue with your own children that your parents did with you? Continue: Love of playing games together as a family. We still get together to do this even though we are all adults. I love my siblings and I feel like our relationships are stronger since we still "play" together. Change: I want to be able to help my kids pay for college. My parents DID help me out when it came down to it, but it was always a huge source of stress when my bill came due and I felt like I was stealing food out of my brothers' mouths so that I wouldn't get kicked out of school.
Recent\Upcoming appointments: next Wednesday for a regular appointment
Symptoms: backaches, insomnia, general body aches
Rants\Raves: My dog is being both super cute and incredibly annoying as she adjusts to playing mom to the new pup. At least she hasn't regressed to peeing in the house!
Also, the crib is set to be delivered today!!
Questions:
GTKY (stolen from the weekend ladies): what's one thing you want to either change or continue with your own children that your parents did with you?
The biggest one for me is instilling a work ethic like my parents did. I come from a long line of farmers and laborers who worked from sun up to sun down, and my work ethic has gotten me so far in life. From the time I could carry a bottle, I was outside helping with chores. I want my daughter to know how to work hard without complaint.
On the other hand, I want to keep a line of communication open at all times. I want my kids to trust me enough to talk to me, even if they've made a mistake. God knows DH and I made plenty of mistakes as teenagers.
Recent\Upcoming appointments: Regular appointment Thursday. I had my 3 hour GTT a week ago Friday and haven't heard from the office, so I'm assuming I passed!
Symptoms: I pretty much just feel huge and everything is becoming uncomfortable. I know it's going to get much worse. May be my least favorite part of pregnancy.
Rants\Raves: I think we're going to start on potty training with DD1(17 months old). The second she goes in her diaper she runs and gets a new one for us to change her. Over the weekend she started to do that before she went so I'm guessing she's ready to try. The only problem is she hates the training potty and doesn't want to sit on the big toilet. It would be amazing if we could get her out of diapers before DD2 is born.
Questions:
GTKY (stolen from the weekend ladies): what's one thing you want to either change or continue with your own children that your parents did with you? Continue: Family dinner. We sat down at the kitchen table as a family and ate a homemade dinner together every single day at 7pm until I moved out of my parents house unless there was a practice or something. I had graduated from college, had a full time job and still had to let my mom know if I wouldn't be home for dinner. It was pretty much the only time we were all together. Family vacation. Paying for college.
Change: Forced religious upbringing. If they get curious when they're older it's not like I would stop them but it won't be coming from us.
Recent\Upcoming appointments: Next week starts biweekly - yuck!
Symptoms: Large? Is that a symptom? My belly button might invert - gross. Hips are sore at night.
Rants\Raves: still riding this wave of feeling better than I did with DD1 - blood pressure hasn't gotten high, swelling is not as apparent. Hoping these next 8 weeks don't change too much! Also - got maternity photos taken! I cannot believe i actually don't feel like a lard ass in them!
Questions:
brenlo42 - love the games! We also played a lot as a family and have already begun doing the same with DD1! Trouble is a great game for toddlers as is the newer versions of Guess Who! Also working hard, esp when you are young, putting away money everypay check and having a savings account. One other tradition that I love is displaying the photos of Santa every year - my mom had all of them for up until i was in college (disclaimer - i have three younger sisters lol) and having the school photo 8x10 up on the wall! My husband was so against this - esp as I am a photographer but I held my ground and her preschool photos were outstanding! so now it's in an 8x10 on the shelf.
Recent\Upcoming appointments: Thursday my blood pressure was a bit too high last week.
Symptoms: uncomfortableness all the way around. Just 10 more weeks. So not ready.
Rants\Raves: I've gone to my last two appointments alone. I finally got ano appointment set up so that my bf could go and of course we get screwed over and he's the only one who can cover while his boss out recoverin from surgery. Which means no off days for him. I'll barely see him this week and now I have to go to another appointment alone. Which sucks because it's a brand new doctor and I don't do well talking to people.
Questions:
GTKY (stolen from the weekend ladies): what's one thing you want to either change or continue with your own children that your parents did with you? Growing up we endured listening to our parents fight constantly til my dad moved out of a few weeks. That's one thing I never want to put my children through. I want to make sure they grow up annoyed and disgusted by how lovely dovey we are.
Recent\Upcoming appointments: Had an appointment last Friday-discussed Zika testing requirements, so probably will get an u/s just to be sure everything is good. Next Appointment isn't until 2/22.
Symptoms: The usual. Heartburn and increasing problems going back to sleep at night
Rants\Raves: My poor DD has had constipation issues on the weekend which usually equates to waking up screaming in pain on Sunday night/early Monday morning=1 tired mama. The only thing that comforts her is being held. Hopefully this weekend will be better
I've been traveling for business for two weeks in a row and so glad this is the last trip for the year. I'd rather be home with my family.
Rave: Nursery painting is done! Now the fun stuff of decorating the room. Goal is to be done by 35 weeks.
Questions:
GTKY (stolen from the weekend ladies): what's one thing you want to either change or continue with your own children that your parents did with you? My parents gave me a fair amount of independence growing up. My parents were also pretty reserved, so I never really shared things with them. I would hope that kids grow up comfortable discussing their problems and issues with me.
Recent\Upcoming appointments: Just had my regular OB checkup. I passed my GTT however I am slightly anemic. I'm on iron supplements for the rest of the pregnancy... yay, another pill
Symptoms: I've been feeling great, hoping to ride this wave out to the end.
Rants\Raves: Can someone please get me off the sugar train!! I swear I've been eating nothing but GS cookies and ice cream, but they're so good!! We're almost done with the nursery, the furniture has been ordered and we finally have a light for the room, I'm so glad that it's all coming together.
Questions:
GTKY (stolen from the weekend ladies): what's one thing you want to either change or continue with your own children that your parents did with you?
I definitely want to continue the lessons about financial literacy/independence that my mother instilled in us. It's definitely the reason my siblings and I are good with money/budgeting.
Recent\Upcoming appointments: Appointments were yesterday. Both of them went well, and we visited and pre-registered at the hospital
Symptoms: Still a spitter. Smh. Got some heartburn, tired, and sometimes swollen feet.
Rants\Raves: Just really happy my appointments went well yesterday. Left there with a smile on my face and have a great lunch date with DH. We said we will take the time and go on more of these before baby comes, since it will be 2 kids in the house instead of 1!
Questions: Anyone having maternity pics taken soon? We just got ours done on Friday.
GTKY (stolen from the weekend ladies): what's one thing you want to either change or continue with your own children that your parents did with you? Continue: Family vacations, preparing holiday meals together.
Recent\Upcoming appointments: Had a doctor's appointment on Monday and got to see my little man! All is well, he's head down, about 1.345kg (2.97lbs), and is starting to get some adorable little fat rolls. Got more 3D photos of him for the fridge
Symptoms: Same ol', same ol': burping and heartburn. Still working out and feeling strong.
Rants\Raves: The nursery is almost done, we've started birthing classes, we have an appointment at the hospital on Friday - it feels like everything is coming together, which is very calming for me.
Questions:
GTKY (stolen from the weekend ladies): what's one thing you want to either change or continue with your own children that your parents did with you? I agree with PPs: continue family meals, vacations, good work ethic, and financial awareness. Discontinue: forced religious upbringing and the taboo subjects that accompany it.
Recent\Upcoming appointments: regular appt on Tuesday of next week, and three hour glucose test this Friday because I failed the 1-hour
Symptoms: Heartburn...I'm at the stage where I have to take a Pepcid before dinner most nights so I can lie down comfortably later.
Rants\Raves: I'm pissed at myself for failing the 1-hour glucose test again. I failed it with my son (passed the 3-hour), but I've been a lot healthier in general this time so I thought I would pass. I guess I must be prone to a slightly higher number
