Is this normal????

I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant with my first, and when i sneeze (sometimes) especially if I'm laying down, my lower left abdominal area hurts like crazy.(like a stabbing pain) Then goes away after a minute or less. Is this normal, even being halfway through? I read it happens usually more so earlier in pregnancy but i just want to be sure everythings okay

Yes welcome to RLP (round ligament pain) very normal if you can tell your going to sneeze try to bring your knees closer in to your stomach it can help

Oh okay! phew. I knew about RLP but didn't know it was still gonna last till later on! Everythings all good now that i know its still all okay and normal. Thanks for your response!

I'm pretty sure it's there the entire pregnancy

RLP lasts throughout your whole pregnancy, & from what you described, you're definitely feeling RLP. for me personally, RLP is worse now in the 3rd Tri than it was in 1st & 2nd Tri.

Try to brace yourself for coughs and sneezes. The RLP is real.

When I sneeze while standing, my lower left back spasms.  I feel like everything is so wonky down there that sneezing makes weird things tense up.

I have a terrible cold right now, so I feel it every time I sneeze or cough. Pretty annoying, isn't it?!
