New behavior

My daughter is 10 months old and stays with my mil during the day while my husband and I are at work. Lately when I go to pick her to take her home, she won't come to me and when she does she hits me, takes my glasses off of me, and with scratch and pinch. I try to correct her on this in different ways and nothing helps but it's only when I go and get her every evening. She doesn't do it to my husband just me. Has anybody else experienced this?

Re: New behavior

  • DD has been very focused on my glasses and earrings recently. And she does seem to do it more when I pick her up, too. Funny... Maybe they're showing their affection to us in a strange way? I am guessing a lot of it is having to do with recognizing that you leave her and return. Maybe she just doesn't know how to show her frustration at you leaving. It is so hard to pinpoint the basis of these behaviors! But, like most things, hopefully it is a phase she will grow out of.

  • My son does the same thing, he has even refuses to say mama, he says dada all day long, yells at him when he my husband leaves the room. I will point to his sister and he says "sissy" point to brother he says "tk tk" (patrick) then to my husband "dada" then to me, and he just stares. He says dog, kitty, but not mama. I know he loves me, don't take it to heart.
  • @sydpat3 I was just talking to my mom about this yesterday, I told her I think DS doesn't say "mama" because he knows all he has to do is make a squeak and I'm there in less than a second lol.
