Baby monitors

Hi everyone!! Just looking for recommendations on a baby monitor. Let me know what you like and why! We've been putting it off because LO has been sleeping right next to bed in the bassinet and now pack n play. We're ready to transition her to her crib in her own room. Our bedroom is on the main floor and hers is on the second floor. Thanks!!!

I started off with a Motorola video monitor. I bought it because I thought is worked with the remote internet viewing app Hubble. I accidentally bought the one that isn't compatible with the Hubble app so I returned it. But it worked very very well, the video quality and sound was great.
So I looked into getting the Motorola one that is compatible with the app but every single review said that even though the video quality is great and they connect to the app no problem, the sound is so quiet that you can't hear anything at all.
So now I have the summer infant wifi Internet video monitor. I hate it. The picture is NOT hd like it advertises and the screen is so little and I CANNOT get the app to work even though I'm doing everything correctly. I looked at the reviews and realized about 75% of people can't get it to connect.
Anyone have any recommendations for video monitor with remote Internet viewing that actually works?!

I just bought an audio monitor for $7.98 on clearance from Target.  It has to parent sets so its nice that I don't have to cart it around with me.  I had a video monitor for DS1 and it broke so I bought another which also broke.  They were each $100.00.  I still use the broken video for him because it still has audio that works though, and you can kind of make out a blob where he...sort of. The videos were Summer Infant and First Years, the audio is also First Years and seems to work fine but I really don't care if it breaks because it was 8 bucks.

We have the Motorola video one too (not sure the model but it was like $160 at target) and I love it. We didn't try to link it up with any apps or anything so no disappointment there. It has great picture and sound quality and you can play songs thru it, speak thru it, it tells you the room temperature.  Only complaint is battery time. It lasts maybe 3 hours, but if you have the video part on a lot it's even less.

We have a Levana Lila.  Its a video/audio monitor, but doesn't have WI Fi.  We didn't see the need in it.  It doesn't zoom or pan, so nothing fancy, but it works well.  We can talk into the monitor for her to hear us if needed.  The screen cuts off until she makes noise and then it cuts back on.  Usually lasts about 3 nights before it needs a charge.

I think I saw that it's normally around the $100 to $120 mark.  We bought it around Black Friday and got it for about $50

We had a foscam home surveillance camera for DD1 with an app for our phones/iPads. It worked great and was only $70. Our old house our rooms were separate floors. Now the bedrooms are next to each other, and baby will be sharing with us then DD1, so I gave away the monitor. Nothing like "MOMMY!!! Addie is CRYING!!!!".

Motorola 3.5 inch screen. So far no problems. Can tilt, pan and zoom. All the bells and whistles. About $200

We got the cheap $25 vtech. It just has audio and a talk option on the parent unit. It's awesome and I love it, especially for the price.

We also have a v-tech one that has the talk button on the parent unit. Love it as well. Ours was originally $50 but I got it on sale at  BRU. I assume ours was more than the one above because it has a projector on the baby unit-which is actually really nice! We love ours though. Especially that you can talk through the parent unit.

We have a Motorola video monitor and it's pretty good.  I was able to add a second baby unit (model we have can have up to 4 cameras) so we have 1 parent unit and a camera in both of the boys' rooms.  It does have zoom but does not pan and you can't talk to the kids.  No temperature either.  Battery life isn't great so we end up keeping it plugged in a lot.  It cannot be hooked up to Wifi though.

I'm currently using an app and an old phone we had laying around! I use the baby monitoring app by Annie, you connect one phone or tablet to WiFi, set up the app and make sure you can see your baby. Then you can set up the app on your own phone (and your husband's and your MIL (I'm sure she'd like that, ha!)) and you can see your baby/babies whenever you want. It is my personal favorite.

We have a Summer monitor and we love it. It can pan around the room and zoom in, and baby sleeps on the top level of our townhouse, and we can go watch a movie in the basement and don't lose signal. It's not too expensive either, as far as monitors go!:
