Re: #Whymypregnantselfiscrying

  • I couldn't get my DD to fall asleep last night and after 11 months of never STTN, I cried. It was ugly. But I felt better afterwards.

I also cried at the supermarket because I was nauseous and over it.

  • I read some Kurt Vonnegut quotes.

Although that usually makes me cry whether or not there's a baby in me.

  • I don't have kids, so I've seen Frozen maybe once. But I'm watching my goddaughter today and she wanted to watch it. I started crying during Let It Go. Being bisexual and dealing with a young friend who is coming out right now, the message was very emotional. Most of my mommy friends would probably laugh at me since Frozen is so overplayed in their homes. Lol

  • @krzyriver I love Frozen!  DH and I have watched it multiple times ... and we have no kids yet lol.

Yesterday, I was reading this blog I follow (Cupcakes + Cashmere) and she was writing about how when she was pregnant with her daughter she picked a lullaby to sing to her every night.  She settled on "golden slumbers," but then had to change it when she realized it was too hard to sing well (I can relate).  Well, I listened to golden slumbers and tried to sing it and some other potential lullaby songs.  I was tearing up in the car on the way to work just picturing singing a lullaby to my little one!  It was so involuntary.  Even though I have a horrible voice lol.

  • Since having a baby, I can't deal with lullabies at all without crying. (Inconveniently enough. Back when I could sing lullabies, I never had any reason to.) So my son gets made-up songs and songs that have nothing to do with sleeping.

  • I suppose this isn't the normal pregnant hormone crying but we had our first US and I was sobbing just from relief! Lol I actually feel like I can be excited and joyous for the first time.
I did the same thing after our US on Tuesday.

  • I cried last night because my mom (a nurse) was asked to stay late to work. When I didn't hear from her at 9pm, I panicked.. so I called up to her work and she was there just running behind, after we got off the phone I bawled.  ughh.
  • "The Sound of Silence" cover by Disturbed makes me cry every time.
I am not at all a fan of Disturbed, but I was actually pretty impressed with that cover. I didn't know that guy had such a wide range with his vocals.

  • Another stinking YI. Had my first ever one on week 4 and another one just as I am getting ready for my first midwife appointment on Wednesday. Argh!

  • I watched something we had recorded in December, and there were Christmas commercials. Not even sad ones - I heard jingle bells and that did it. No idea why.

  • You know how Thanksgiving or Christmas is usually the holiday where family drama happens? Well, for us, it's Easter. Got into a small tiff with SIL at brunch today and then did the announcement finally with both moms there. Couldn't even enjoy the moment as there was major tension at the table.  Can't wait for this day to be over :/

  • @rozANDbenSINCE2001 I'm so sorry to hear that, my family always has an issue at holiday dinners as well but it sucks that your amazing news was overshadowed by that. You still have all of us!! ❤️
  • @rozANDbenSINCE2001 ugh sorry to hear that. Family drama sucks!!

  • My MIL ended her text to me with "you're going to be a great mommy." :bawling::
  • I wanted to go with my husband to play cards at our friends house but another random prego headache and exhaustion from hosting family for Easter made that not really possible. Apparently that required all the tears. <sigh>

  • @ladyshark311 @LGW2015 Thank you both so much! That literally made my night :) Also, the SIL texted to apologize and said she's been going through some stuff so we're all good. But it's so nice to know I've got my fellow O16 moms for support!  :*

I still very much like the original, but I definitely appreciate the new take on an old favorite.

  • All day long I've cried for whatever reason my hormones thought tear worthy. The Latest Was Because FI told me he just worried about me bease o am eating for two. And then we were talking about my first ultrasound tomorrow.
  • DH is running late and it just started POURING so he's going to be even later even though he's only like a 15 minute walk away but he doesn;t have an umbrella with him... and it's already late and he was picking up the things to make dinner... so I am uncontrollably crying. thanks hormones.

  • I was feeling really bad last night & absolutely nothing sounded good for dinner. DH is still recovering from surgery & is still pretty much immobile. I knew he had to eat, but the thought of cooking meat or really anything   was making me want to throw up, so I ended up making him a grilled cheese with the last 2 pieces of bread we had in the house...and burnt it. He tried to be sweet & tell me that it still tasted good. I cried.
  • @kmolleltz - oh no! I'd be hangry at that point! Sorry you're having a rough time!
  • I had some spotting yesterday, after announcing to the family, with back pain. I took half a day off today to go see the doctor, who said everything looked fine and checked the heartbeat. Tears because happy and also tears because I felt like I wasted the Dr's time.

  • @MrsHudson2014 So glad everything is fine! Don't worry about wasting the doctors time. That's what they're paid to do! You absolutely did the right thing in going in.

After multiple weeks of waiting for my first MW appointment, I called today to ask about bringing DH (in case of an ultrasound or heartbeat check since this is our first appointment). Sounds like it's a get to know you meeting to answer any questions we might have about midwife care! I was decided when I requested an appointment  the day after we found out and when I booked the actual appointment on week 6.

Poor husband doesn't understand why I am so upset :(

  • The song "From the Ground Up" by Dan + Shay just made me bawl like a baby at my desk. OMG.
  • Read an article about Mr. Rogers.

  • @mizzkbrat I feel you on that, just heard it the other day. I absolutely adore them, saw them here in VA not too long ago with Kelsea Ballerini and they were just a joy. They were genuinely taken aback almost to the point of tears when the audience was singing along to just about every one of their songs, especially the ones not on the radio.
  • I read a story on Facebook about (this country singer, no clue who they were before reading) Rory Feek's wife dying of cancer and how she made the transition easier for their baby daughter to the point that her daughter hasn't asked for her since she died. Sounds awful, was beautiful, and couldn't stop crying. Why, why, why  :'(
