What are you needing or hoping for with the next one? We got so much we never even used with our first that with the second we can't think of much other than diapers and wipes. Any advice?
I want a jogging stroller that can hold two and then another crib lol other than that we have everything, besides diapers and wipes! Unless we have a girl, then we don't have any clothes but I'm not worried about that.
Edit: I won't be doing a registry. These are just things DH will be getting at some point for the baby.
I'm not planning on registering. The one thing I'm debating on getting is the halo bassinet. We just went straight to crib with DD but at times that was hard.

We are getting one and I am so excited!! Love the swirl opton, where was this when DS was born? We went straight to the crib too and ended up cosleeping after three months with no sleep.
We are getting the halo bassinet, a double stroller and a rock'n'play (why did I not buy one last time??) but are set otherwise, unless it's a girl. Then I will buy all the bows and cute little dresses.
I might set up a registry to get the discount codes for completing a registry, but I will buy my own items off it. I don't expect anything gifted this time around.
I think I'm kind of in the same boat as @mamajen10414. Being that DS is only 9 months, as long as LO is a boy there will be plenty of hand-me-downs that are not out of style yet when he is born. The only things I would really ask for would be a double stroller and possibly another crib since DS will likely still be using his. However, if LO is a girl we will need clothes also and possibly a new car seat since the one we have is "boy colors."
We are doing a registry with Buy Buy Baby only because they give you a discount on top of the coupons when you complete the registry as of right now, we are only putting on a car seat, everything else we have.
What others have said. Rock n play is an awesome necessity I didn't have the first time around. And the double stroller was a new thing I got. But now I have had two-- one of each-- so I don't know of anything else I need! I definitely want some kind of new carrier.. I have an Ergo but want to try another. I'm mostly excited for some boutique-type hats, headbands, gowns, wraps, etc that we couldn't really afford to splurge on last time.
We won't be registering but I want - a pregnancy pillow - my breastfriend nursing pillow - a standard tula - fancy a&da swaddle blankets - an infant seat (which is a need not a want)
DD1 6.2011 DD2 4.2013 - vbac DS1 9.2016 - vbac, team green Baby #4 due 9.2018
We are set, so I won't be buying anything else but maybe some more cloth diapers. We have the halo bassinet and love It! And we got the city select so it can be a double also, we just need to buy the second seat.
We are registering, but just for the discount and to keep track of what we still need to get! It won't be much: a dresser, new glider (our last one was from Target and sucked), Crib mattress, and maybe a few other little things (hopefully some girl clothes this time around!). I would never expect anyone to buy anything for us, but will have a list just in case
I registered when I had my second solely for the discount and it ended up being awesome. Buy Buy Baby had a registry completion event that we got invited to and they took 20% off everything we bought that night including our Baby Jogger City Mini Double stroller. And I kept this registry personal, besides the discount it was just a list for me to know what else I needed.
I am going to do it again. I need to check the expiration date on our infant car seat. In addition to that, I think I would like to register for some sort of baby carrier or wrap and I really like the 4Moms Mamaroo.
We bought all our baby gear in neutral colors, so we are pretty much set.
I will definitely be registering, so people can buy me all the things at my 'sprinkle' that I'm throwing myself!!!
But really, I will be registering just for the free stuff and the discounts. There are random things that I have thought of and it will be nice to have them all in one place. Double stroller, crib/dresser (because I want to keep DD in the crib as long as possible, and hers is convertible), and baby carriers. All I had this go around was an ergo, but I don't love it and know I'll be wearing more this time, so I'm getting at least one new SSC, a wrap or 4, and maybe a ring sling.
We are definitely doing a registry!! It's been 5 years since our last was born and we are pretty much starting from scratch. I do have an infant car seat that is still good until next March and a couple friends are giving me their mamaroos but other than that we are starting over. I just did one so I can keep track of all the stuff I need and want. I'm not expecting a baby shower or sprinkle.
We co slept till about six months or so. Will do the same I think this time. We will need another car seat and some clothes if we have a boy but I don't plan on actually registering.
I am looking into getting a sit and stand stroller. DS likes to walk everywhere, but he gets tired easily and I want to have the option. I also really want a new glider. We got our last one off Craigslist bc it matched the nursery but it was uncomfortable to nurse in. Everything else we will reuse.
Word to the mamas wanting a rock and play- we had one the first time and I loved having baby close by at night. BUT- it gave him a bit of a flat spot!!! It is made from hard plastic with a thin padded cover, so you will need to pad the head area. I put 2 newborn diapers under the cover and that did the trick. So I would say they are ok to use, but just be aware of that side effect
My DD is 10 months now, so will need a crib, changing table, etc. I also want a double stroller and a Lillebaby carrier. And since we cloth diaper, I just need a few more diapers to get us through two in diapers. A lot of the larger items I registered for with DD were in neutral colors because I wanted to have the option to reuse them. Hopefully I'll have friends who can give me their boys' hand-me-downs to get through if it's a boy; if it's a girl, I feel like I have enough clothing for twins!
I'm registering for the discounts and free stuff. Plus I like binging things with the little gun, and I can't forsee a reason that I'll get to do it again after this.
Things we plan on getting include: a double stroller, rock n play, dresser, new glider, big girl bed for DD so that this LO can have her crib, and more A&A blankets. And if it's a boy, lots of clothes.
Well register for the completion discount. The biggest baby item we need is a double stroller. Otherwise, our biggest expense will actually be getting DD's big girl room ready including new flooring, paint, furniture, etc.

I didn't keep much as far as baby gear goes besides clothes and nursery furniture, so there will be quite a bit we need for this baby. I'll register for the completion coupon, and as PP said, the biggest expense will be redoing and furnishing the room DS and DD will be moving into to create space for a nursery.
I think that's it! We'll be finding out the gender again, so if it's a girl this time, I'll sell all of DS's clothes at our kid consignment store and get store credit.
I'm not registering but I need all the necessitates since we weren't planning on having anymore and I got rid of all my stuff. I plan on getting most of my stuff at yard sales or in local FB sale groups.
I've been working on the registry since I found out I was pregnant (for the discount and to keep track!)...I don't know why so much crap is on there already...we kept everything from our first, but they have new improved versions of everything!!!! Ugh I suck at saving money...
I've never had a baby shower and never asked for a single thing with any of my LO's so this time I'm going to request that everybody buy me 1 soft bums cloth diaper because really that's all I care about! And hey what's $20! ;-)
Haha when I start putting out baby stuff I'll probably get rid of more than I buy. I have so many carriers, nursing pillows etc that we never really used.
We will be looking at some sort of stroller solution. Either a cheap double or a glider board for my awesome single. Besides that I will be selling a few items that we didn't love last time and replacing them with better options. We hated the exersaucer and will be getting a jumperoo this time around. I also want a bouncer chair for this LO since my MIL has one at her house and it's so simple and awesome! I will also be looking into some cloth diaper ideas since we will have two in diapers but I'm thinking I might switch my older one into more like a training pant. Anyways, that's about it except for new clothes if this one's a girl and the things that need replacing between babies like bottle nipples, soothers etc.
I'll be registering, but not planning on having a shower or anything, but I know some of our family & friends will want to buy the baby something, so I'd rather have a list of what we need in case they want it...plus for us to keep track and get the completion discounts.
I got rid of so much stuff from my daughter. I was living in an apartment when she was born and separated (and later divorced) her dad when she was only 8 months old. I wasn't thinking I'd have another baby anytime soon...or possibly at all, so we'll have to get new stuff.
Well, we didn't have a baby shower or anything with our second, so I didn't bother with a registry.
I mostly got "splurges" with the second. I bought a Beco carrier, aden + anais muslin swaddlers, that kind of thing. We got a double stroller and another car seat. For our oldest, we switched her out of the crib and got her a big girl bed + bedding. The baby got his own dresser. I'm sure there are other things, but we had all of the basics.
Evelyn (3.24.10), Graham (5.30.13) & Miles (8.28.16)
I am definitely going to get the halo bassinest. We moved LO out of our room and into his crib early, and i wish we hadn't. Also, we only have two bedrooms, so we'll keep this baby in our room longer. I'll also get at least one nice a+a blanket for baby since LO has one and loves it. Other than that, clothes if it's a girl, and some new wraps for me to carry baby in while I chase LO around. No Netflix marathons while cuddling baby on the couch this time around!
@Sporty1216 I really will miss my calm time on the couch to nurse LO. I feel as though I'll be chasing around DS with this babe attached to my boob. Cue National Geographic footage...
We got rid of EVERYthing after #1, so we have to start all over again. nursery furniture, rock 'n play, diaper pail, baby carrier, infant bucket carseat, baby bathtub, etc. ugh. Plan to buy them all at a kids consignment sale that's coming up, or on Craigslist if I can find good deals. We still have gender neutral little baby clothes and swaddlers, but anything bigger than 3 months will have to be purchased new.
Not registering. Although we always have baby sprinkles for the expecting parents at work, so that will be nice if it happens... we're team green again

My kiddo will be 21 months when this little one comes - we will move the glider/changing table to the new nursery as we hardly use the glider now for my son and will be using the changing table less and less. Last time we kept a pack'n'play with changing table feature right in the living room so I didn't have to go upstairs for every change - we will do the same again. Other than that I'm buying a crib off of my sister (her twins are 4 and are done using them as convertible toddler beds) and will need a dresser - not much else!
Of course will get some new toys/clothes so baby has some new items and out of excitement. Mostly pumped to redo our guest room as a nursery - decorating/prep is my favorite!

This is what I was going to say. With #2 I made a registry kind of for my own sake. I just used it like my list of things to get. If you wait until after your "shower date" at most places, you get a discount. So I used the discount to purchase most of the items myself.
I am doing a registry with Babies R Us only because they will give you a gift card of 10% of what was purchased off of your registry. So we won't tell anyone we are registerd but anything we need to get we will put on our registry they make sure it is checked off.
My "baby" is going to be 5 when this new baby is born. We don't have ANYTHING left, but we did give most of our stuff to my sister, who has had two kids since then. She is going to give me everything back. I know we'll need some clothes if baby is a boy, and we'll need a new car seat (the one we gave my sis expired). I'm sure we'll end up with various other new items as well.
With my 2nd I didn't need a whole lot of anything. I did get a cosleeper which was a lifesaver, and a bunch of new clothes because my girls were born in spring and the 2nd in the fall. Besides that, everything was hand-me-down
My family and close friends told me to make a registry. So they'll know what we need.
my daughter is 5. We got rid of EVERYTHING because I have PCOS and was told I was in Peri menopause. And surprise!!! This baby is such a blessing!
My husband and I purchased the stroller and we will purchase the car seat. However we will put smaller items on the registry.
My thought on showers and registries with baby 2+..... If people OFFER, then consider it a gift and enjoy it.
I helped throw my friend a shower on her 3rd. She only had diapers, clothes, and bottles, pacifiers ... Ect... On her registry. Small stuff... But a few of us blessed her with a new double stroller we knew she had wanted but didn't put on the registry.
I really don't feel it's tacky...
I guess there could be a few exceptions for the shower or registry situation to be tacky after baby 2+. Lol But if loved ones offer , why not?

Ladies wanting a baby carrier - highly recommend the k'tan for the newborn stage.
Edited because words are hard.

I love the sit N stand strollers!
We just the Baby Trend Sit N Stand stroller and my 5 year old already loves sitting in the back.
Shes had 7 going on 8 reconstruction surgeries on her hands and feet so she needs a break to sit while we are out and about all day.
Going to Buy buy baby is so much fun!
