It's that time again! What's happening in your life?
It's a three thing day for me:
1. I have a sinus infection that's taken me down. I have a new found respect for my daughter when she has ear infections- I forgot how much ear pain hurts!
2. It's finally sunny and mild where I live- yay! Maybe I can muster up the strength to get the dog walked. Sunshine is a cure all for me.
3. The take home outfit thread got me excited to buy little things for this baby! I'm team green, so I'll buy one of each
Bonus: Coffee is my savior. The end.
Have a great day, mamas!
Re: TTT
2. After a big, tax-related, shock last week - things are looking up for our design studio. We are super busy and can't keep up with all the work streaming in. Happy days!!
3. Had a good weekend, but too busy, looking forward to spending more time at home this coming one.
4. For some reason my brain can't think of any other food to make other than pasta or salad... It's been like that for two weeks, DH hasn't yet complained though. I need some inspiration!
5. Chicken schnitzel and salad for dinner tonight.
6. Our nursery hasn't been progressing. I need to get my ass into gear already.
7. All I want to do nowadays is sleep. I can literally sleep my 8 hours, see DH off for work, then do another 3. And then in lunch time I will have a nap again. 12 hours seems excessive no? Anyone else?
8. Is a before-dinner-nap a thing? (yawn)
9. Baby Boy is kicking so hard that we can see on the outside now!
10. 3 and a half months left for us
2. Since I've been doing major cleaning/organization in our house, I put the Q-tips in a container in the bathroom mirror and Husband is driving me crazy about the stupid lid. He says "it's annoying" to have to put the lid back on. I know it's something so silly, but it is so frustrating to me! Just put the damn lid back on instead of hiding it somewhere where you think I won't find it!
3. I've purchased at least 18 storage bins/containers since I've started nesting in an effort to save on space in our small home. I realize I might be slightly obsessed, but they've all been super useful! My favorite has been the new organizer in our silverware drawer. It's a little pathetic how much I love it & how much better our silverware drawer looks.
4. The Bump mobile is pissing me off already today. I don't have permission to do anything.
5. My meeting that I was literally just about to walk out the door for was canceled. Part of me is relieved because I want to stay home in my sweatpants, but most of me is bummed because my client really needed this meeting this morning. I'm hoping we can reschedule it for her ASAP.
6. My client's kids make me nervous to have kids.. bjt they've been through a lot of trauma over the past year & a half so they have a lot of behavioral issues.
7. Happy Groundhog's Day! Punxsutawney Phil apparently predicts an early spring, which I don't think has ever happened for as far back as I can remember.
8. I'm in an uncomfortable at night & sleep like crap phase right now which really bums me out. I was sleeping sooo good up until recently. Hopefully this doesn't last the remainder of my pregnancy.
9. I'm having a work baby shower this Friday, but I've only heard about it from one of my coworkers who is also pregnant & one of the people throwing it for me. The other coworker helping plan it who I see more regularly hasn't even mentioned it to me, so I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a surprise for me. Either way I'm super grateful because my coworkers are amazing, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to act surprised or acknowledge that I know/knew about it?
10. I kind of want to go back to sleep. Yesterday in the middle of my day between scheduled appointments, I came home and took an hour and a half nap with my dog - otherwise I wouldn't have made it through the day! Coffee wasn't doing it!
2. I went to my first pregnancy-chiropractor appointment yesterday. It was amazing. I'm so glad I went, and I'll definitely keep going to get things where they need to be.
3. Chiropractor was able to realign my hips, get my cervical spine/jaw back in place, massage through my back, and balance/release my round ligaments. My bump feels so much more comfortable today and LO was moving around like crazy and found a new position. I'm hoping this gives him room to not be breech.
4. I still have some scar tissue built up in my shoulder from an old injury and when I sprained it a few months ago. She's going to try to make that more comfortable too. Yay!
5. I have wanted all of the Mexican/Tex-Mex food lately. Guacamole, spicy meats and veggies, a little bit cheesy. Yum.
6. I feel like I need a mental health day, or part of a day to just take a nap and get a few things accomplished, and relax a little. It's not going to happen, but a girl can dream.
7. I'm eager to finish the changes to DS's room to make it a shared nursery. A few small things we ordered are on back-order now though. It's not a big deal, but I'd like to finish it because I hate leaving projects hanging.
8. I went to an awesome consignment sale over the weekend. 23 nice shirts/pants/jackets for DS and LO for $12.50. I'm pumped.
9. I'm wondering what DH is planning for Valentine's Day. Usually, it's the one day of the year that he cooks-- or we go out somewhere.
10. Is it Friday yet? This work-week is dragging already.
2. The baby mobile holder order has been a pain in the ass. First one we ordered was just too low, just got the extended one, and it's missing 2-3 pieces. It arrived earlier than expected (amazon said it was going to be March- because it was coming from China)- but not all the pieces are there which just makes me mad.
3. Hubby is traveling the end of this week- and I'm kinda excited. Partially because that means I could watch HGTV all I want without him saying anything- partially because it also means I could read all night and get a little closer to caught up on the award books I'm reading for work.
4. The teachers I'm working with this semester for a teen program can't seem to get their crap together and it's annoying me. They're lucky that so far I can make all the schedule changes work.
5. I'm starting to sleep worse and it's bothering me. I'm gonna have to get a coke later.
6. I'm getting winded easier- just reading a book for storytimes it getting difficult.
7. I'm going through a slight nesting phase.
8. Hubby traveling also means I can do a massive cleaning of our bedroom without him getting in the way or grumbling. HA!
9. Is it nap time yet?
10. One of my dogs is driving me crazy- we're working with him trying to get him to stop bouncing when he wants something or gets excited (he's 75 lbs) but it's hard when he's not jumping on us - just bouncing in place. All I can see is him landing on LO though so we're trying to train that out of him now- it's proving to be extremely difficult.
2. We still need to move the giant desk out of the nursery and DH keeps putting it off. It's making me Grumpy
3. I'm going to work on sewing projects this afternoon!
4. My bff's baby shower is in 10 days and I haven't finished hey gift yet! Making a flannel blanket and a stack of burp cloths
5. I love how tired my dogs get when either DH or I are home all day
6. Curling was cancelled tonight due to the snow
7. I'm not going to get to pick up my wedding band tonight due to the snow. I had lost a diamond in it, and the jeweler is replacing it for free!!!
8. We have good friends from college moving near us next week!!!!!!
9. I have been tossy/turny at night and it's not fun
10. DH wins all the awesome points, he has been giving me morning foot rubs this week, and he told me to go to bed at 8:30 last night
2. H is still working on our painting project. He's doing a great job and it looks awesome! He changed all the trim from golden oak to white, painted the hallway, the high entry area, our bedroom, and the nursery. All that is left is a bathroom. New carpet should be in the week of the 15th, then I can really get down
3. I only grabbed a piece of toast for breakfast today. I'm starving!
4. The Super Bowl food thread has got me all sorts of excited for Sunday's deliciousness.
5. I am seriously having the hardest time picking out a name for our baby.
6. I was awake from 1:45a.m. to 4a.m. today. I must be preparing myself for less sleep...
7. I think I need to break down and buy more maternity pants. Not excited about it.
8. We usually go on a ski vacation and/or a warm vacation and it's killing me not taking any time off this time of year. Oh well, it's better to save the PTO until after baby comes.
9. I think I decided I will take 6-8 weeks off, depending on the type of delivery I have, then go back to work part-time until 12 weeks. My sales goal is just too high this year to be out of the office that long. It stinks. However, working 20 hours a week for 4-6 weeks will allow me to have 12 weeks off (and part-time off) fully paid, plus 3-4 weeks PTO to use for the rest of the year. All in all I'm pretty fortunate!
10. @valerie4786I heard on the radio that Punxsutawney Phil is wrong 55% of the time. I thought was was interesting!
2. I had this metal art picture made from my husband's dirt bike race. Excited to give it to him.
3. We have our 3d/4d ultrasound Sat. I can't wait!
4. This baby has been so active. Last night I just watched my belly changes shapes as she was moving.
5. My MIL has a job interview today. She had committed to watching the baby for 2 days/ week when I return to work but with getting a new job that might not be possible. She didn't even tell us she was looking for a new job and we already found a day care for the specific 3 days. Ugh. My MIL has a horrible history with changing jobs so I shouldn't be surprised and should just put the baby in daycare 5 days/ week.
6. I'm playing hookie next week so my friend and I can go to the spa for her bday and I'm getting a prenatal massage!
7. I've been trying to buy tickets for a concert so I can take my daughter. They went on presale and I can't get any tickets. Darn teeny boppers.
1. I'm sitting inside drinking coffee as it starts to blizzard outside. Oh, and the fireplace is going!
2. We have had non-stop problems with our carwash business and it's really putting a strain on DH's and my relationship. I just want this stuff to be fixed!
3. DH had a job recommended to him by a friend, but it would mean moving for a 4th time in 2.5 years, 5 weeks before LO is due, and it's an additional hour's drive from family than our current 1.5 hours.
4. I'm beginning to be burnt out at my job and I am counting the weeks until maternity leave!
5. My MIL, mom, SIL, aunt and sister are meeting this weekend to get some ideas going for my baby shower. I'm looking forward to a lunch with the girls!
6. I have absolutely no idea what to do for Valentine's Day. I could easily craft something for DH, but if I suggest the same for him, he will end up with a project reminiscent of a few years ago - a giant heart cut out of my good scrapbook paper (which I loved and gladly scrapbooked!). I then found the scrap sheet stuck back into my good paper...made me giggle!
7. It's already snowed about 1/4" since I began typing this - eek!
8. I really need to start practicing my Spanish since we have a Rosetta Stone program. I got it for DH 2 years ago in plans of learning the language for a trip we were taking, but we forget to use it!
9. I really wish we could get another ultrasound of LO, as I just don't get as much satisfaction with the 30 second Doppler at our appointments
10. Apparently it will be an early spring this year, which I'm excited about, but it doesn't seam feasible with a blizzard today!
2. Now that the 3rd tri is here I've been wandering to the 3rd Tri board more often...the posts about people looking for ways to induce labor before 40 weeks "naturally" are very irritating to me. My personal plan is to stay out of nature's way unless my doctor has a medical reason for hurrying the baby into this world.
3. Nesting phase, where are you???? We have done so little to prepare. The crib and changing table are together, but that's about it. No, that IS it.
4. My baby bounces around all day long and sleeps at night. I can only hope this trend will continue after he's born!! (yeah right).
5. My shower is 3/20. I'm excited to see my Mom, because she lives about 1000 miles away and I only get to see her a few times a year.
6. I'm getting a remote starter installed in my car this weekend, Christmas present from my husband. I'm pretty excited about it.
7. Cannot believe the due date is only 12.5 weeks away. I'm working up until the Friday before (2 days before EDD). Not gonna lie, lately the thought of leaving work a week or 2 early is very appealing. I wish I loved my job.
8. I have to get on the Valentine's Day plan because my husband deserves something awesome. He's been such a rock star with everything lately...home, work, dogs, baby stuff, everything.
9. One of my labs has turned into a total teenager when it comes to getting out of bed in the morning. She will lay in her bed and hide her face when I tell her it's time to go outside, ignoring me completely. Sometimes she squints open half an eye to see if I'm still standing in front of her. When she finally manages to drag herself out of bed she gives me legit dirty looks and then bumps into a few things on her way out the door because her eyes are still half shut. The rest of the day she has never-ending energy...she just apparently hates morning.
10. Hey! I just realized that my dog and my husband wake up the same way!! Haha maybe it's learned behavior.
2. I'm getting some wooden letters from Hobby Lobby this weekend for a nursery project. Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be a complete disaster.
3. My rocker came and DH put it together for me this past weekend. I love it.
4. We found a daycare we love and gave them our deposit and paperwork last week, but the person who can actually put all our info in and process the payment has been out sick since last Weds. They said they're holding our spot so I'm trying not to worry, but I can't help it and will feel a lot better once they actually take care of everything. DH says I'm being paranoid.
5. DH's allergies have been horrible the past 2 days. It's warmed up here so pollen is really really bad. He's sneezing every 2 mins and super congested. I told him he needs to just take something, but noooo... He says he's 'fine'.
6. Emailed a newborn photographer yesterday asking if they are available in our timeframe. I hope so bc their price is amazing and their photos are actually really good. Everyone else around here is really expensive otherwise. Fingers crossed.
7. Childbirth classes start on Feb. 17th. Also DH's birthday. I'm pretty excited about it. And to top it off we get to go out to eat for a birthday dinner after the first one. Yay!
8. One of our cars got paid off last month. Yay for one less bill to pay.
9. I want to make LO a crochet blanket, but I'm having the hardest time picking a pattern I like... So if anyone has any recommendations please feel free to send them my way.
10. People keep trying to pass off their hand me downs. I will gladly take them if it's something I feel comfortable with, but don't get offended if I turn down your 10 year old crib. Yes I know it's the same model as what I want, but safety regulations have been updated since then. And yes... The person actually was offended and said I was being overly paranoid. I guess it's a good thing this is my baby then.
1. I haven’t done one of these in a while- let’s see if I make it to 10!
2. The nursery is JUST about done. The rug should be delivered this week. I think that will make me feel better. And I am going to start working on the blank wall across from the crib, using floral pompoms. I just hope elephants and pompoms don’t clash!
3. Counting down the days until Feb 15. The schools are closed, and since DH is a teacher he has the week off. It is quiet time at work (Chinese new year) so I also took the week off. Finally getting my name change done and heading to Atlantic City for a “babymoon”. At least I won’t get the Zika virus there! And hoping to win some cash money!
4. Excited for the OJ Simpson mini- series starting tonight. It’s not often that something comes on TV that I am excited for (unless it’s a new Housewives season that is!)
5. It is balmy here in NYC and I LOVE it. But I heard someone complain it is too “hot” yesterday. I almost throat punched her.
6. Happy to see Donald Trump lost last night…. Haha!
7. Sometimes I get scared that even though 3 doctors have seen my A/S results, and all said it’s a girl, that we will end up having a boy! Anyone else have that worry?? If it’s a boy, I hope he likes pink and dresses
8. Got my tax refund already. Right back into the baby fund! Baby needs some new shoes….
9. If I hear the words PIE CHART one more time, I might loose my shitzzzzzz
10. I made it to 10!!!!
- I just ordered this cute carseat canopy cover with one of those gift cards they give you in the welcome package at Destination Maternity and only had to pay the $14.95 S&H charges (I have a promo code if anyone's interested.). I'm pretty excited!

- The extra-spicy tacos I had for lunch were delicious, but this resulting heartburn is miserable!
- DH stayed up most of the night finishing the wainscoting on the walls of our nursery last night (and had to be at work early this morning, poor guy), so it's ready for furniture now!
- I can't wait to start putting our furniture together tonight. The anticipation of having the boxes stacked in my living room for the past week and not being able to unpack them yet has been killing me!
- My BFF just texted a few minutes ago to say he is going to try to fly down to visit for a long weekend in a few weeks. I hope he books the trip soon because I don't know how much longer I'll be able to get out and about around town comfortably!
- My co-worker/friend's wife is scheduled to be induced tomorrow afternoon (if she doesn't go into labor sooner). I'm excited that our LOs are going to be so close in age. I can't wait to meet their little girl!
- Work has been painfully slow today because I'm at a stopping point on several projects until other people get me the info I need from their departments.

That's all I've got for today.@swflJD I have that one too!! I was just debating whether I should get a new one for a girl...or just go with it
2. We are meeting with two in home daycares tonight and I'm super excited about the first one!!
3. I love feeling our girl move all over the place. s
4. H finally felt a solid hard kick on Sunday night and he has brought it up every day so far. I love it!
5. I'm looking forward to having an ice cream cone and a Coke at McDonald's today.
6. It's beautiful here in Kansas during February and I love it.
7. I've got nothing past this! But I'm super excited about the daycare!
2. I made a big lasagna last night that should feed us for the majority of the week.
3. My fingers still smell like garlic.
4. I have an appt to see a local nursery school on Thursday! I don't even know what to ask.
5. I could do without the reflux at night.
6. My parents are coming to visit in 2 weeks!
7. This week I'm loving the under-bump pants.
8. I joined the Sweets Addicts group, but I'm still eating way too much candy! It is delicious.
9. I clipped my toenails today. getting more difficult.
10. I might have to spring for a pedicure by the time my RCS roles around! I currently wear socks to my OB and MFM appts!
Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
We would ideally like to use the daycare center at my office, but it isn't scheduled to open until sometime late next month or early April. The problem is that, while it's going to have a 50-child total capacity, there are only 10 infant slots (for a company with 600+ employees). They are going to do a "lottery" for the slots if more people sign up for a particular age category than they have available. There are - just that I know of - at least 4-5 other women in my company who are expecting (and I'm sure there are more), without even including the male employees who have expectant partners. Since there's a chance we will have to find alternate child care, I would like to be able to explore all of our options. I just don't know where to start.
2. I have done absolutely nothing for the nursery.
3. Granted, I was waiting to find out the gender (just found out Thursday) to pick out bedding and then go from there.
4. I looked at bedding on Etsy and was shocked that most of it takes 6-10 weeks to come in.
5. My SIL is going in for a c-section right now. She's 3 weeks early, but they decided to go ahead and do it since she's had high blood pressure for weeks.
6. My half-sister's birthday is tomorrow, and I have completely failed at sending her a gift that will be there on time (she lives several states away). I feel like I should add that I have Amazon Prime.. so yeah, I could have ordered something as late as yesterday, and it would have made it.
7. I've been stockpiling diapers and wipes. So far, I have over 2,900 wipes. I wonder how long those will actually last?
8. My friend's baby was born with HLHS, and she's just over a year old. She just had her 4th heart surgery today, and it went well! It breaks my heart to think about this sweet babe having to go through so much, but she is tough.
9. If i have GD, it will be from straight carbs. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but GIVE ME ALL THE CARBS.
10. Speaking of, I'm totally having mac and cheese for dinner tonight.
DS1: May 2016
DS2: Jan 2019
Baby #3 EDD: 6/18/24
2. I can't get the fuel pump to work to fill up my vehicle (home pump), so now I have to go into town to fill up. It's just super annoying since the tank at the house is full.
3. I have my 3D on Thursday. The dh won't be home, so I'll be a lonely panda at this u/s.
4. My oldest DD decided she wanted to take me to the movies last night. We watched Kung Fu Panda 3 and I actually enjoyed it. First night out in months.
5. It's cold and snowy, I really don't want to go outside.
6. I have less than 3 months left…Going by previous births, It could be anywhere from April 10th to April 24th. I've never made it past 39 weeks. I really did want a May baby…
7. My sciatica is through the roof as of late. I'm starting to hobble because of it. Baby is really far back, which is making it even worse.
8. I really hate Valentine's Day. I have to have 150 Valentines for the kids to give out at school. Their classes have 25 students and most boxes of Valentines have 22 in them, which means I'll have to buy extra to cover everyone. Celebrate if you must, but….can't we just stop handing out candy at school? Some of us can't afford that shit, and some of us just don't give a damn.
9. My brother was bragging to me last week how his two kids are closer in age than my first two were, by a week. I didn't realize that it was a big deal. Is that sort of stuff a big deal? I mean, really? People care about that? If you want to compare, dear brother, my 1st was 2 years 3 months and 3 weeks old when my 3rd was born…so kiss my ass.
10. Speaking of, I hate that he lives in my basement. They can't afford to rent an actual apartment, but can afford to keep having kids on my dime. I finally told him he has to be out by June.
2. My parents, married over 25 years, are going through some serious issues. I'm at the point where I'm saying go to counseling or get a divorce because this is awful. It is breaking my heart, and I have no idea how to deal with this, because they keep coming to me to tell me their sides, and I know I wouldn't tolerate how either are acting. I can't separate myself from them because I know they need me, but I don't know how I can mentally handle it.
3. My echo came back, and it was good news. Everything is still in normal range so no changes at this time.
4. I still eat a ton of sugar, but think "I shouldn't eat this because I posted in the sugar addicts group" each time. It is sad.
5. My husband took the week off since he had to use the days, and he has been telling me how amazing it is. Jealous.
6. We are going away for a couple of nights later this week, and I can't wait to get away from work and the family drama.
7. We lucked out and got an entire wood bedroom set this weekend from someone who needed to get rid of it that day for $125! I can't wait to repaint it for the nursery dressers.
8. Amen to @yogahh about Trump losing in Iowa.
9. I'm covering for a coworker who is going out on paternity leave, and he has yet to get me a transition worksheet with the status of projects. I've been asking for over a week, and I only have one day left in this week, but he thinks the baby is coming while I'm out. Why am I the one hounding him? Shouldn't he be the one making sure his crap is covered?
10. I'm so proud of all you women who accomplish stuff during the week. It takes all my energy to go to work and workout. The rest of the time, I'm pitter-pattering around the house, not doing anything meaningful.
2. I got assigned to mandatory overtime at work and my ot shift is until midnight sitting with a kid while they sleep. Really hoping to stay awake this whole time
3. Bought a mobile for the nursery today and am ordering the dresser tomorrow. Then all we need is a glider and we can put the room together!
4. Was told today that all of a sudden I'm looking round. Never thought I would be happy to hear that haha
5. It's been so warm lately but just read there may be a nor'easter next week
6. Really need a personal day as work has become more emotionally difficult since becoming pregnant (social worker working with child abuse)
7. Really want a chocolate shake but can't leave to go get one
8. In disbelief that it's already February and there's only a few months left before LO arrives
9. I can't stand waiting for tax forms in the mail and just want to get them submitted but my husband is still waiting on his w2
10. Tomorrows hump day and one day closer to Friday!
Sorry i I got lazy. If anyone wants to pick up my slack please do!!
I also am not doing childbirth classes- my doctor told me to just listen to her because chances are I'd forget everything I learn in the class- though my hubby and I might see if we can find a video or two online that covers some stuff. I will be doing a breastfeeding class- mostly because its only $25 at my local hospital- but I don't think it's bad you aren't doing one!
Sadly with this pregnancy my doc is saying I am making them faster so they get big very quickly which I guess is why I went through hell this weekend. It actually felt stuck for a while but slipped right out after a day of agony.
