Fussy Period

So, now that Leap 5 is over for some of us, is anyone having a rough go of the Fussy Period?

I will say that Leap 5 wasn't that bad for us. She was a little more cranky for a few days, but otherwise her same cheery self.

This Fussy Period is another story altogether. She's very needy, almost jealous of my attention. Totally happy when I am only paying attention to her, but not so great when I'm doing anything else - petting the dogs, washing dishes, folding laundry, etc.

Anyone else experiencing this? Just need to know I'm not alone.

Re: Fussy Period

  • Yep. I can barely leave the room. I've just been having to bring him with and set him on the floor so he can watch me do whatever I have to do. It works most of the time.

  • The fussy period has been the worst of all of them for us. She's just freshly out of it and I can tell it is slowly getting better but we are still dealing with some clinginess during the day and at night!
  • 100%!! DD is so clingy and will immediately start crying if I even turn my back. Leap 5 was nothing compared to this.
  • Did not know this was a specific period. We're on week 30 of this.
  • Yes!! LO is out of leap 5 but has been a lot more clingy and fussy.
  • Thanks ladies!  Glad to know I'm not alone. Hopefully it won't last too much longer. I do like knonwing that she misses me, but my goodness! This is very intense.
  • Yep. It's been going on for a while and to top it off I went back to work on the second so that's multiplied it. Lol I miss her so much when I'm at work!
  • Yup. The worst is that she's clingy with me even when dad his home. If he has her and she can see me she will twist around trying to reach for me and cry which she didn't used to do. Definitely hope it's temporary!

  • Yesterday was the end of the grey / fussy period for us and guess what!? LO went to sleep with NO fighting and IN HER CRIB!! Woohoo!
  • LO has been fussy! I can't do nothing, the minute I turn around he starts to cry :/
  • Yes!  All of a sudden my ds wants nothing to do with Dada.  The second I walk into the room after work, I'm on duty every single second until bedtime or else crying.  Plus, he's started waking up again and crying for no reason at 2 am.  We had just abolished the 4am feed and now he's up from 2-3 fussing every night.  Mommy needs a nap!
  • It's tough! She's still pretty needy, even though the chart says it should be done by now. Of course, I understand those are just guidelines and every baby is different. And, she's teething now, too, so I don't think the fussiness is over for me anytime soon. :)

    Good luck mamas!!!
  • I think that is what is going on with is right now!  Today is a lot better though!  I read that we should look at each day and how out baby is that day and accept it for what it is... don't compare it to yesterday and don't plan on it being the same tomorrow. We have to love them every day for how they are that day.
