GTKY: I wish I were a more avid reader, but I guess we really need to make the time. Mostly we just get sucked into the internet, plus I'm waiting for us to switch the rooms around and the the darn tv OUT of the Bedroom! DH likes to put something on to fall asleep to, but the light disturbs my sleep and I don't like face masks. Anyway, Bob Ross is not so bad to drift off to... But I digress, I too read more when I'm on a trip, on the airplane etc. same as @sldp123 and the last book I read was, "The Power of Nice." I am still reading the Dietrich Bonhoffer biography, like a chapter here and there at bedtime, but I haven't picked it up for a few weeks now. I'm terrible.

R/R/CS: I thought yesterday would be O but no temp spike so maybe today. CP does feel a little softer and more open today but not really higher. I'm just learning to chart CP so maybe that's normal for me. I usually O on CD 15 so we'll see.

GTKYAre you an avid reader? What was the last book you read cover to cover, and how was it?? Any current/specific book suggestions? Despite the pile of nearly a dozen books on my nightstand, I'm re-reading the Outlander series right now. I love them so much!

*****I apologize in advance for the super long read (skipping it won't hurt my feelings, I just had to get it out)... I'm not in the best place and this is the first time sharing with anyone other than my husband****

Month/Cycle
: technically.... 6/2? But since taking Provera I'm starting over so... 3/2

CD: 1

WAYDTGKTFU: OPKs (can't temp :( ), sex ED or EOD pretty soon, PNVs, Provera then Clomid (just prescribed by OBGYN and will be monitored by both OBGYN and RE at their shared office which is at the hospital and directly above the labor and delivery ward- I LOVE them/the office/hospital/location/everything).

R/R/CS: So... I'm a little upset/scared/all the feelings. I met my OBGYN team and like I said above I love everything about their office. All my information was already in the system because the doctors office I go to is part of the giant healthcare system. I also love, love, love the fact that OBGYN and RE work right next to/with each other (there are several OBGYNs, but only the one RE assigned to the hospital).

Anyway... I have a SUPER rare, untreatable, so far incurable condition (went to the Mayo clinic in September and they could only tell me what was wrong, but it's so rare they didn't give me a name). Anyway, it's where all the tissues/muscle/that stuff in my body (mostly my chest area the ribs and everything behind, and even lower all the way to my reproductive system) stays chronically inflamed, meaning it puts pressure on my heart and lungs (that's the part I notice most). Long term, it shouldn't cause more problems than just pain (with the heart/lungs). I was even diagnosed with heart failure (at 26) during one of the flare-ups (stays chronically inflamed but will flare up and get REALLY bad).

OBGYN immediately called the RE into the office while I was there and they were discussing that and the military's butchering of my appendix which ruptured ten years ago. Apparently that inflammation and infection can damage your tubes... I told them (military doc) it was appendicitis and they laughed at me, tenish hours later I was in emergency surgery but I digress... (They're more concerned with my current condition, but made mention of that, too)

They have a serious concern that the condition I have could have caused permanent damage to my tubes and they very seriously doubt I've ovulated even once since it began. :( Because the condition I have is so rare they gave me Provera again instead of waiting to see if a period would happen, today would have been CD45, which I know is not long considering others on here, but they are trying to take control of things. I randomly started my period early this morning after only a couple days on it, so that's weird but good maybe? (went over 90 days no AF before the first Provera round).

Anyway, already I'm set up for a series of blood tests and ultrasounds and the works for Clomid because they want to see if it will help me ovulate despite the inflammation condition. They said they would never start this early with patients, but my medical condition means without any help I won't ovulate at all, and the longer it goes on the more chance I have of never conceiving. This was all sent up to my doc at Mayo who approved the plan and said if I could get KU then I would hopefully be able to carry so long as my body don't reject the fetus (my body is such an asshole right now there's no telling). If I don't ovulate at all through this they have a couple other options, but it would be a long shot. If those don't work then I'm unlikely to ever get KU. OBGYN and RE are cautiously optimistic, and the Mayo doctor was more thrilled than I wanted to hear (he was on speaker). Mayo is using my case as a study because there are only a few known cases so far (and I'm the youngest and also the only one TTC), so this gives them extra stuff to look at. At least they know it's not genetic. Oh, and they told me if I do have something else with my heart that they didn't catch, it could tear during childbirth... but one step at a time. I don't even have the horse or the buggy at this point.

Sorry about the crazy long rant... I'm just so upset and scared. I'm so, so scared. We put off having kids so that it would be easier for my husband to go to school full time and me to work (I have a great job and benefits for both of us), but now we may have ruined our chances. The whole inflammation thing started two years ago... that was just after we decided to wait.

GTKY: Are you an avid reader? What was the last book you read cover to cover, and how was it?? Any current/specific book suggestions?
Well, other than the current novel that I just wrote above... I can't remember the last book I read, but my favorite book of all time is Helen of Troy. I love ancient history (fiction or non) and I enjoyed her take on the legend.
My book cover was the old style, looked different (looked like old parchment paper), but it's the same book/author.

ETA: I work tonight, so I'll be going to sleep soon. In case anyone responds to this... I don't want you to think I'm being a jerk and ignoring you.
• @Marley629 that's amazing! Congrats to you both!

WAYDTGKTFU: BD, BBT, OPK, CM, PNV, Gaifenesin

R/R/CS: Nothing. I'm just hoping my temp spikes tomorrow. Not getting anything on OPK's. I wonder why they don't work for a lot of people. Are they not sensitive enough?!

GTKY: Are you an avid reader? What was the last book you read cover to cover, and how was it?? Any current/specific book suggestions?

I absolutely love reading! I haven't had a chance in quite a while to do it for pleasure. I can't remember the last book I read but the one that pops in my head is the Divergent series. I've got nothing current for you.

• @Marley629 Congratulations!!! How exciting!

@BusinessWife I love the lion gif!

@NovaSaysNo - That book is on my TBR list! I'll read the rest in a little bit.

Month/Cycle: 4/3

CD: 16

WAYDTGKTFU: Charting, PNV, decreased caffeine (I say as I sip my coffee), exercising... I'm going to add saving money to this

R/R/CS: **Question** is O the day OF the temp spike or the day BEFORE the temp spike? I had to discard a couple temps due to drinking the night before earlier on, and I was stuck at the hospital (work) for the snow storm... So my chart is wonky and I'm not sure if FF will figure it out. I have a solid temp spike, though.

GTKY: Are you an avid reader? What was the last book you read cover to cover, and how was it?? Any current/specific book suggestions?

Yes! I love to read! I'm reading Call the Midwife right now, it's spectacular.

Also, I feel like this is self explanatory bt I'm khbear117. Something funky happened with my account - when I logged in this morning it was back to Knottieblahblah. So I tried to change it back, and it said the username was taken. Whatev.
• @Marley629 congrats!!!
@sldp123 sorry about CD1.

**Temping question**

Month/Cycle: 2/2

CD: 11

WAYDTGKTFU: PNVs, temping, starting OPKs soon

R/R/CS: This is my first month temping and I'm confused a bit. I know it's best to let FF know when I exercise and drink cuz it can affect BBT, but which day so I put it on? I drank last night, so do I add it to yesterday's specifics or today? Am I overthinking this?

GTKY: I LOVE books. I usually have a book that I'm reading and an audiobook that I'm listening to while driving. I like dystopic future books, historical fiction, and really sad/horrifying fiction. The last book I read that made an impact on me was Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay. I listened to I Am Malala audiobook more recently and it was quite good as well.

• @NovaSaysNo I'm so sorry to hear of the trouble you're going through. I can imagine that would be incredibly terrifying and so so frustrating for you. It sounds like you have a wonderful team of doctors on your side though. Did they say anything about possible IVF if the other options don't work? Would that be an option for you and your H? I'm sorry you're going through this. **hugs**

@khbear O day will be the day before the temp spike

@soda23 How much did you drink? I find that one or two glasses of wine doesn't effect my temp much, especially if I drink hours before bed. If it's a night of drinking and I go to bed with a buzz, then my temp will be off. In that case, I usually don't tell FF I was drinking, I just discard the temp. As for exercise, I never mark it at all and I work out fairly regularly. I think if exercise is a part of your normal routine, it shouldn't effect your chart. If you're just getting back into the gym or something, I would maybe mark it for the day of the exercise until it becomes a part of your usual routine.

I read every day pretty much. The last book I read cover to cover was The Last Sin Eater by Francine Rivers. It was okay, but her other books that I've read are much better. I recommend her books for anyone looking for novels by Christian authors. Currently I'm reading the Wrinkle in Time trilogy because when I was a kid I never knew it was a whole trilogy so I only read the first one.

WAYDTGKTFU: Probably benched this month....sigh. See R/R/CS.

R/R/CS: Well, it's been doozy of a few days - besides AF showing up, which is bad enough, we've now decided that we're going to take this month off TTC because we have a trip to Turks & Caicos at the end of this month and we don't want to be stressed out over the Zika virus (we discussed cancelling but we can't get our money back b/c T&C is not listed on the CDC website yet and I'm not pregnant). To make matters worse, our friends who were supposed to go with us cancelled because they are expecting in a few months (but of course the third couple, who we don't know, will be going - awkward). I know that it's "only" 1 month, but I am worried that if I get a mosquito bite and that it may mean I'm benched 2 months!! I really hate that we're having to let time pass, but I know it's better to be safe than sorry. I just keep reminding myself that we are still going on a beautiful trip and there's lots to still be happy about, of course. And trust me, I will be having ALL the pina coladas.

GTKY: Are you an avid reader? What was the last book you read cover to cover, and how was it?? Any current/specific book suggestions? This is funny timing since I just started a book club with some friends. I do love to read, but haven't recently b/c of time. I'm in the middle of several books (I know, terrible) - "Yes, Please" is super fun and a great light read. I just started "Fates and Furies" for the book club. I can't remember the last one I finished though! haha.

ETA: @NovaSaysNo - I'm really sorry about the struggles you're going through right now. I can't imagine how hard and scary this all must be. But as PPs have said, it's great that you have a strong medical team by your side and that they are optimistic. Sending positive vibes your way!!

@nys27 I'm in the same boat! We're going on a cruise in 3 weeks so we had to TTA this cycle. Of course, DH "forgot" in the heat of the moment the other day so now I have that to stress about since it's too late for us to cancel and get our money back too. I went on Amazon and bought ALL OF THE DEET. I was really upset about having to sit out a couple of cycles, especially because we wanted to try for a cruise baby but as the trip gets closer, I'm getting more and more excited about it and am relieved I don't have the possibility of being KU and getting sick to stress over. Have so much fun on your trip, it will probably be the last you and your SO will have as a family of 2!

*Question*

Cycle/Month: 1/1

CD: 15

WAYDTGKTFU: voodoo love spells...nothing else seems to be going the way it's supposed to be, so might as well think outside the box.

R/R/CS:
My chart is all sorts of wonky because my sleep sucks, DS woke me up in the middle of the night 2 nights ago and I wanted to kill DH last night when he came up to bed (he had fallen asleep downstairs) an hour before temping alarm was to go off.
I originally got dotted CHs for the high temps on CD 9/10 which have since been taken away (good, because I was pretty sure I didn't O that early).
I was dry as a bone until yesterday (scant CM on CD11) when I got some EWCM. Also, based on previous non-temping O signs, CD13/14 would be about normal.
So, if I get one more high temp tomorrow, IMO, I will feel confident with O on CD 13, but will it be appropriate to discard temps on CD9/10? Both charts linked below.
Also, a question -
Good ways to increase CM? I've seen a drastic decrease in CM In general this month, so may look into trying some things to help next month.

GTKY: I used to be. I can't say that I feel
like I have time anymore. I am trying to re-read all the HP books before baby #2 comes along. I tried for at least 1 chapter/night with the hopes of getting them done in less than a year, but I've been slacking off lately. Last book I read cove to cover was probably a HP book last year when I started trying to read them over again, but again got sidetracked and lost track of where I was in the series...

• @nys27 thank you so much. I am lucky to have them, and I know I shouldn't complain. I think I just let life bite me a bit and I took it a little too hard.

• @NovaSaysNo I may read it next - I need a good historical fix! Also, I just read everything else in your post. I'm so sorry you are scared. Please don't hate/guilt/be upset with yourself for waiting to TTC. You have no idea how things may have panned out back then, and you would not be the beautiful person you are today had your life been different the past few years. ❤️

@MRSCORKER That's what I thought, but I wanted to double check since I am spoiled and FF figures that kind of thing out for me... I don't know how long I will give it before I move to TWW, but I think this month I may say sorry to FF and call myself O'd.

I am a huge Fifty Shades fan and this is the same story line. Which was the last book/series I read cover to cover I personally loved it. The books are so much better than the cheesy movie. I prefer to read non serious stuff just bc I spent years reading text books!

Also, does the 100's of pins on Pintrest that I am always reading count as a series?
• @NovaSaysNo the good thing is you have a dx and have Drs trying help. I swear that is half the battle. While I don't have what you have, I do have autoimmune disorder. Of course it can't be determined what I have but that I have all the symptoms and off the wall lab to confirm AI. I know you must terribly afraid but just try to relax as much as possible. I think you have a great chance for having a positive outcome thanks to having a wonderful team. Thanks to metformin, provera, and clomid, I have 2 children. Also, don't beat yourself up for waiting. You did what you thought was best at the time. I know easier said than done. I wish I would have gone for number 3 sooner. However, if I would have, DH would have spent around 8 months taking care of the 4 of us. The beginning stages of this s**tstorm my body caused, I was basically useless to everyone. Sometimes things happen for a reason. Just take it one day at a time. Keep us updated.
• @atcwag Is there any particular reason you think the temps should be discarded (other than they don't look as nice)? It's recommended you never discard temps unless it's really messing with FFs ability to detect ovulation. Usually FF can still see the temp shift even with a few wonky temps. You shouldn't be discarding just to make your chart look prettier.

I guess that's what I'm asking. Doesn't FF need 3 temps higher than the previous 6 to detect? Based on secondary signs and history, I feel confident of O on CD13 if I get a high temp
again tomorrow, but will O
not be detected because of the high temps on CD9/10? Those were particularly bad sleeping nights for me.
Thanks for the insight. I certainly don't want to mess with things that should be left alone.

R/R/CS: My temps are stayed consistently low the last 6 days. Idk if that actually means anything, but I feel like O is coming! Hurry up dang it, I can't keep up all this sex much longer.

I'm really not much of a reader, I can't even remember the last book I read cover to cover! It's really sad I know, but it's just never been my thing.

@AFwife566 thank you so much. I'm sorry you went (and are going) through all of that, and I feel bad saying that hearing that gave me hope and did make me feel a bit better (like there's a shot), but you do give me hope. I know our journeys aren't the same (any of us) but to hear that I'm not alone is a tremendous help. :) I know there are women with much harder journeys, so I'm not alone and I shouldn't complain. I work nights so I just sat there thinking about it over and over.
I will keep you all updated in the WTO threads as much as I can. So much of their doctor speak goes over my head. But I do ask questions (mainly the "what is going on" and "what do I need to do" ones).
The funny thing is that you say the same things that I would tell others, but can't tell it to myself. So thank you for that. :)
I hope you get answers soon (or whatever it is you are needing), I know that has to be tough. Autoimmune disorders are common in my family (but this strangely isn't one... so weird), and I wish you the best with everything. Hugs!!

ETA: TO EVERYONE:
I don't know what I would do without this group. You all are wonderful and I truly appreciate it. I have to go to bed so I can make it to work on time at least once this week (oops...). But thank you to all well wishers. It means so much.

• Month/Cycle: 3/4

CD: 6

WAYDTGKTFU: AF is still here that biatch. PNVs.

R/R/CS: Nothing at the moment.

GTKY: I used to be an avid reader but lately I really haven't been reading much. I have TCOYF on my night stand and The Most Dangerous Animal Of All (its a book about the zodiac killer). But probably the last books that were read cover to cover were the Game of Thrones series. So good.

@NovaSaysNo I'm so sorry, I can not imagine what you are going through, but like all PPs said I'm so glad you have what seems like a wonderful team of doctors behind you. Internet hugs being sent to you!
• Thank you @peachykeen17. I'm realizing I am lucky to have those doctors (which is helping to calm me down). Aww, hugs!

• @sldp123So sorry about CD 1

@Marley629 Congrats!!!! How exciting!

@NovaSaysNo I'm so sorry you're going through such a hard time. I'm glad you have docs on your side who seem invested in helping you, but I can only imagine how frustrated and upset, anxious, etc you are.

@khbear O day is generally the day before the temp spike.

@nys27Ugh, total bummer about having to be benched. The Zika thing is so so scary. The silver lining is Turks and Caicos will be amazing.

@atcwag I would leave the temps. FF can usually detect O even with a couple high pre-O temps. I know that it's annoying to have high pre-O temps though. My chart is driving me bonkers for the same reason.

Month/Cycle: 1/1 TTCAL

CD: 21

WAYDTGKU: All of it.

R/R/CS: Having a hard time TTC/TTCAL. I'm generally exhausted by all this right now. Tired of sex. Tired of OPKs. Tired of all the cute babies everywhere. Tired of all the pregnant friends on Facebook. Yesterday I was with my mother, and she saw a cute little baby. She pointed to the baby and said, "You need to give me one of those." We're trying, mother. Not only that, but I only stopped bleeding after my m/c less than a month ago, and she knows that. I was like

GTKY: I love to read, but I don't read for pleasure as much as I'd like because my job is very intellectually demanding and by the time I get home, I only want to do things that involve no thought. Think Keeping Up with the Kardashians. :) The last book I read was the Shack, which was thought-provoking and easy to get through although sometimes not that well written.

• Good morning ladies... CD1 for me.

Month/Cycle
: 5/5.. Ugh that sucks

CD: 1

WAYDTGKTFU: OPK, BD EOD, PNV, EPO, BBT, CM.. What else is there? Lol

R/R/CS: CD1 and a baby shower....... This should be fun.

GTKY: Are you an avid reader? What was the last book you read cover to cover, and how was it?? Any current/specific book suggestions?

I used to read every night. I loved it. But school ruined that. Right now because I'm crazy, I'm reading The Impatient Woman's Guide to Getting Pregnant and I just finished Supernatural Childbirth. It's mostly about labor without pain, but there are sections in there about infertility and God. Helped me through some rough patches this month. Normally I love light reads. Mysteries and biographies are my favorite. Lit by Mary Karr and Why Me by Sarah Burton are amazing.. But very emotional.
• @Marley629 Congrats that is so exciting!

@NovaSaysNo I'm so sorry that you are going through all this. I'm sending creepy internet hugs to you.

Month/Cycle: 4/5 (9/11 in all)

CD: 14

WAYDTGKTFU: pnv, cm, temp/chart, hio eod

R/R/CS: none now, just waiting for my temp to rise. I've had some early ovulation the past few months and I guess I got used to it, but we've been pretty consistent with eod, so I'm happy about that.

GTKY: Are you an avid reader? What was the last book you read cover to cover, and how was it?? Any current/specific book suggestions?
I love reading, but I'm having a hard time finding a new book. This thread should help! I usually read a new book, then read a Harry Potter. I'm on my second HP book. It's the Half-Blood Prince, one of my favorites.
I did just read the Daughter of Smoke and Bones series which was really great.

CD: 51, but thank god I think it's almost over...

WAYDTGKTFU: BD, temp, OPK, all the stuff

R/R/CS: Ok, so I had darker OPK on Friday, but really dark yesterday. Solid dark this AM, and now starting to lighten up. My temp today was after drinking all day yesterday, so I am really waiting for tomorrow to tell completely. When does FF give crosshairs? One more BD today just for good measure, but does anyone have any opinions on when they think O was?

GTKY: Are you an avid reader? What was the last book you read cover to cover, and how was it?? Any current/specific book suggestions? LOVE reading, but don't do it nearly enough. Last book I read was TCOYF!

@nys27 that stinks, but hopefully the nice weather and alcohol will help make up for TTA and potentially awkward convos.

@NovaSaysNosorry about the rough time you're having. Creepy stranger hugs to you.

@MRSCORKER I had 2.5 glasses of wine and went to bed buzzed. I guess I'll leave the temp and decide later.

@murray1030 sorry about CD1
• @cjt121413 so sorry for your loss and that you are having such a hard time. I am feeling the same way. I feel like this every CD1, like I just don't want to effing do this anymore. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Thank you to everyone for all the CD1 love. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have this board to vent to.
