2nd Trimester

Overwhelming Full Feeling

Just out of curiosity, has anyone else around 22 weeks had this super full heavy belly feeling? It feels like at all hours of the day even just waking up, that my belly has turned into a bowling ball or cannon ball. Eating doesn't intensify this feeling, so I don't think it is that. I seem to be becoming more aware of my ever stretching belly. It could be the awareness, but oh my goodness, lol.

Also last week I had an ultrasound at 21 weeks 1 day, it is a girl, she is almost 6 inches long and 13.4 oz. Is this average? Not sure, the doctors said that it is really good and she is really healthy, which is all I can really ask for.
Just looking for input. Thanks a bunch everyone!  :)

  • If the dr isn't concerned about her growth, trust them :) and A full belly feeling is normal, too

  • you think you feel like you have a bowling ball tummy now? just wait til 3rd Tri, haha! i can barely get back up once I've laid down.
  • This happens to me when I'm constipated and/or retaining water. Are you taking Colace? That helps with constipation. Otherwise, watch the sodium intake, drink a lot of water.

It can also happen when having Braxton Hicks contractions.

  • 22+1 here and yes, sometimes it feels like if I take too deep of a breath my belly is gonna burst... a la Alien. It's not necessarily painful, just uncomfortable. I am not looking forward to 3rd tri which I imagine has the potential to be a thousand times worse  :(
  • Thanks everyone for replying :) Since I found out I was pregnant, I seem to be carrying all in the front, I feel like I am growing a globe in the front lol now it has gotten to the point where if I lay on my back for long periods of time I have a hard time getting back up, I call it turtle power lol. I can't wait for the day I get to hold my little girl, at the end of the day it's just a little discomfort to get to that final goal :) Wishing everyone the best!! Thanks again!
  • I'm 17w2d and feel this way sometimes.  Like...crap...how is my body supposed to grow for another 20+ weeks!!!!
