My doctor didn't require a blood test, so I've got no clue! I've used a clear blue with the weeks estimator, and did see the weeks change when I took them a bit apart, so that made me believe my HCG is doing what it is supposed to.
I had mine check the day I got my BPF at 3w 3d and it was 17. My repeat 48 hours later went up to 47. They also checked my progesterone that stayed at 18 both times.

I had mine checked at 4W1D and it was 89. Rechecked on 4W3D and it was 287. I was put on progesterone supplements as a precaution even though my level was 15.7 at baseline.
I requested to have mine done to give me peace of mind. At 4 weeks exactly (or 15dpo) progesterone was 21.1 hcg was 420. Went back 4 weeks 2 days and hcg was 1,023. My doctor said they were great, but seems a little high? DH has got it in his head we will have twins this time, so he just smiled a very self-righteous smile when he looked up my numbers

Does anyone know how beta works as far as giving you indications of twins earlier that first ultrasound?
My fertility nurse said that is the 14 dpo beta test is like 500 is a pretty good indicator that there might be more than one cutie growing.... i was tested at 14 dpo and mine number was 169. I have an ultrasound on Feb 8th
Thanks ladies! I had mine done on Friday right at 4 weeks going based off my lmp and hcg was 96. I had two losses over the summer early on do scared to death.
On Monday at 11 or 12 dpo it was 17. On Wednesday up to 28 (not a great rise). Rechecking next Wednesday but today on the clear blue easy weeks estimator i got the 2-3 weeks result meaning my levels must have jumped up a good bit! and Vanessa11411 I am on supplements too as my progesterone was at about that same level
1 chemical and 1 loss at 9 weeks prior to DS IVF #1 1/10-transfered 2 blasts- DS born 10/2010
Trying for # 2 since 2012. 2 failed FETS 1 failed IUI.
I had mine done because my doctor is concerned about ectopic. My 1st draw at 16dpo was at 370. My second draw at 18dpo was at 937. So it more than doubled. The nurse said that that was a good sign as ectopics don't usually increase hCG that quickly (but could).
I went in at 10dpo and was only a 9. At 12dpo I went to a totally different lab and was 35. My P was 20.1 at 10dpo and at other 17. Doctor is happy with P levels. I pray my HCG has since gone up. My lines have been getting darker
My doctors office didn't say anything about a blood test, they just scheduled my first appointment for 3/1. Should I call and ask about this? Any first time mamas with no losses get their HCG and/or progesterone checked? I feel like it would make me feel better about all of this ...
@Blonde1817 My OB doesn't check HCG or progesterone whether you've had a loss or not. In her opinion if the pregnancy is viable, your body will do its job and HCG will rise appropriately and progesterone levels will not be an issue. If they're not, there's nothing really they can do to prevent a loss. My OB is of the mind that unless there's a real progesterone issue pre-pregnancy (which is rare) all progesterone supplements are going to do is delay the inevitable and make a non-viable pregnancy last longer than it should.
ETA: it can cause unnecessary worry or false hope.
Ok panicking beta was 619 it should double every two days with means it should have been 800-900 they want me to repeat it in two days. Anyone have an experience like this?
I'm not having blood work or anything until after my 8 week ultrasound and appointment. Every doctor is different and every patient history is different.
@Selena2016: Try not to panic (I know that's easier said than done). Were your charting? Depending on when you implanted the HCG production rate could be a little slower. Sometimes some little beans are slow starters and end up ok. They all grow at fairly different rates. Try not to freak until you have more information. One blood draw (by itself) is not sufficient to spell doom for your situation.
@Selena2016 - What was your first beta.. I can't remember what it was. Have you used the calculator on betabase.info to find out what yoru doubling count/hours are? Between my first two betas, my double time was like 50.6 hrs. I just had a 3rd beta today (to ease my mind about spotting), and my doubling time is now 44.9. You may want to also pose this question to the ladies on PAIF as most of them have gone through betas.
Anything 72 hours or less is fine . Don't count yourself out yet you are still headed in the right direction!!!! Doubling time typically shows too the higher it gets

WORF: I did not come here to
admire the scenery.
DAX: If you say so. I guess we should just go
home.
WORF: Well maybe. I would not be so hasty.
DAX: I take it the scenery has improved?

often.
Beta 1 for this pregnancy was today and I'm sitting at 139 and a major guesstimate of 14 dpo (within first cycle post d&c) so I'll have to see what the number hold on Wednesday. I'm guessing an Oct 7 edd
@Piperella thank you so much friend. That made me feel much better. As you know I am an IVF girl and just this weekend I'm feeling like my bloat from gigantic ovaries has gone away and I'm having cramps- maybe as a side effect of the estrogen and progesterone I'm taking. All of this is making me so worried. And I know stress is bad for the baby! Oh god fast forward 9 months please.
Just got my 2nd set of numbers back and it was 515 yesterday. So 96 at 4 weeks and 515 at 4w4d! So happy they are going up like they should with my two losses they never even came close to doubling.

I thought I would be losing it today for sure but, I just took another test and got a nice strong line. Darker than yesterday's by far. I repeat my beta on Thursday. Please everyone think nice big numbers for me!!!! I really want to join you but, I'm just too scared to really dive into participation.
