Essential Oils to help with IVF Journey

Hey Ladies,

As we all know we experience a lot of ups and down during our IVF cycles (and even before).  I am currently a distributor for Young Living and have been doing more research on certain oils that can help me during this difficult time.  I will be starting my IVF journey in March and so far I have ordered Peach & Calming and already have Lavender and Stress Away.  I am defiantly looking to order more in the next couple weeks.

I wanted to see what other oils women are using to help them through their IVF and fertility journey.  Or maybe you aren't familiar with essential oils and their healing properties and would like to learn more on which ones are beneficial and how to use them.  I would like to hear which oils women are using, how and when in their cycle?  They don't just have to be Young Living but any brand of oils.  Of course I would be happy to talk about Young Living, but here is not the time nor place.  Hopefully we can learn other ways to offer support to ourselves and bodies during this difficult time.

Re: Essential Oils to help with IVF Journey

  • Hi! I use lavender bath & body oil. It's a Norwegian brand. I use it before bedtime to make me sleep better.

At at work I used QI Stress Relief Serum from rituals a co-worker gave it to me. Definitely not use this before bedtime as it wakes me up again

  • I got a blend from an oils shop. Vitex agnus castus, clary sage, geranium, fennel, lavender , orange, rose.
  • I have some lavender and eucalyptus oil from the body shop. I'm sure it's not the "real" thing but on the bottle it says to check with doc if pregnant. I'm not pregnant but wondering if it's safe to use now while going through iuis.
  • It is better to use a carrier oil such as coconut oil, olive oil, grapeseed oil, etc.  This dilutes the oil to make it not as strong.  Drop about 1-2 drops in a little carrier oil.  This is good for babies and kids too.  But always best to consult a doctor first!
  • Lavender and Ylang Ylang are my favorites.  I also use a stress relief blend from a local health food store.  I always add a few drops to my bath water and I find it so relaxing!

@carly434 I'm also a Young Living distributor and I love my oils.  I didn't use any during my first two cycles but I have for this one and its helping my stress level tremendously.  I also developed a head cold so it's be great to treat it naturally with out the need for medication.

@chicandbubbly I use Panaway diluted in a drop of coconut oil for headaches.  Just rub a little on your temples. It works within 20 mins for me!
  • @chicandbubbly I recommend Peppermint as well.  I would dilute this with coconut oil and peppermint is really strong.  Depending on where your headache is you can rub it on your scalp and dab a few drops near your hairline.
  • I have also been using Peace and Calming and Stress Away before my injections.  I am not a fan of giving myself injections so any way to help me feel a little more calm is great.  The last thing I want is to "mess up" an injection because I was too nervous to give it.  My husband usually does them but I always try to do one incase he is not here.
  • Thanks ladies... I think I need to buy some oils!

I'm not going through and IVF cycle but *hopefully* going to be doing my first IUI cycle in a couple of weeks. I use the oils on reflex points of my hands and feet. I use Frankincense mixed with coconut oil all over my feet and Thieves (or anything with clove or rosemary) under the inside and outside ankles (reflex points for uterus and ovaries). Also on my hands and then Thieves on the inside and outside of my wrists. I love Peppermint, Lemon and Lavender blend for stress relief.

Stress Away is great but Copaiba smell makes me gag.
