The man cold. It's real, and it's unbelievable. My DH takes the man cold to a whole new level. When this man gets a runny nose he is down for the count.
He's been going to bed at 7(!) and sleeping in the spare room so DS won't wake him up for the last 3 nights. That's 11+ hours of sleep a night! He actually just can't do anything. He's too sick to cook, clean, eat, be in a reasonably good mood with others, play with DS, help with bath/bed time (because this occurs after 7:00). All things he normally does. He must either be sitting on the couch or in bed at all times or I guess he will perish? He starts taking cold medication cocktails the minutes he feels like he might get sick because he literally can't handle it. Haha.
Not really a vent because I bug him about this all the time (though I am jealous he has the freedom to do this). But I just can't believe this is real. My life can't just stop because I got a freaking cold! Anyone else have an SO who suffers from the "man cold"...or do you?? Come on, admit it
Edited because my smiley face at the end didn't work....

ETA- Is there a grown ass man wonder weeks leap calendar??
@ahoneycutt12 haha oh geez I hope my DH never stumbles across that. He doesn't need any more excuses to increase the ridiculous amount of sleep he's getting! Good luck to you the next time he gets sick!
@dmbfan46835 hahahah yes, it is so annoying for everyone else in the house. That would be super handy. I'd love to know approximately how long I'll have to be dealing with this...

"I'm having fruit salad for dinner. Well, it's mostly just grapes, actually. Ok all grapes. Fermented grapes. Fine, I'm having wine for dinner."
He also cries whenever we see something on tv (news or fiction) that involves a mother losing her son or vice versa. This has nothing to do with me or my kids, it's because he's a mamas boy and I tell him so. Don't get me wrong, it's good to be a little sensitive but he totally lacks empathy for anything else in life.
My husband had the man cold during labor. That was...an experience...
...if this turns into something...I will cry. It will mark the 700th time he's been sick since LO was born. He will require much sleep. Possibly many trips to the store for new drugs. And me up with LO. Because sleep regression. I do all the nights during the week since he works and he usually gives me some breaks on the weekends. Except when the man cold strikes. All bets are off when he's sick.
