Anyone introduce yogurt yet to baby? I have been making LO's food at home and some of my recipes call for yogurt. So, I thought it would be okay to get the yo Baby stuff for her to try on its own. (She'll be 7 months next week.) Of course, I did some research AFTER I bought it, lol. Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone else has introduced yogurt yet.
Our next appt. with the pediatrician isn't til the 11th, so I will ask then as well.
The Yo Baby yogurt has a ton of sugar in it. I'd just use plain greek yogurt.
Yeah, I saw that after I made my purchase. Am thinking about just ditching it. Sad that things that are supposed to be made for babies are not really good for them. Am learning to read labels more, but I spaced on this one. Just because it is organic doesn't mean it's okay.
I think they know they can over charge for anything that says baby on it. I would avoid any yogurt marketed for babies and kids because of the sugar. You can still buy organic plain yogurt. I'm not sure what age you can start it but I know it's before you can give milk.
My pediatrician told me to go ahead and give yogurt at his 6 month appointment. He's had noosa and stoneyfield organic baby yogurt. I put it in a bowl and he goes to town.
My baby eats Greek yogurt. Our pedi said it was fine to give to help with her gut since she has to be on antibiotics daily. The baby yogurt seemed odd to me because it was not refrigerated (and didn't have live cultures).
We give our boys lots of yogurt and they love it! We've bought Noosa and Strauss. I tend to buy the plain Greek yogurt and occasionally chop up some mandarin oranges, banana or other fruit to offer them as well. Mmmm
