Happy! Happy! Happy!

Hey all ~

I went in to today for my cell-free DNA test (will get the results back in 10-14 days) as well as the NT ultrasound. I was SO HAPPY to see baby in there, looking like an actual human, heart beating strong, tiny legs and all! At first baby seemed to be asleep so the technician had me do a few deep coughs, which woke it up right away! The doctor said everything looked really good and that you can't get more "normal" than this! Whew!! What a sigh of relief!

I really can't believe this is actually happening. After 2 losses I think part of me just expected bad news again and I'm feeling so incredibly blessed to have each visit bring so much good news. It seriously feels like a dream. DH was standing right in front of the screen (pretty much blocking my view!), practically jumping up and down! We are both just so in awe, so lucky, so blessed, so happy.

So happy for you! I remember it all being so abstract with DS until the NT scan. It's amazing to actually see your future child resembling a human. Hopefully you can ride this high until you start to feel little one kicking in a few weeks!

Awww congrats!!! The NT scan was probably the biggest emotional highlight of my pregnancy so far. I didn't have an earlier ultrasound so that was the first time I got to see with my own eyes this life growing inside me. I didn't really believe I was pregnant until that moment. I cried ugly tears of joy, and that says a lot because I'm a very even-keeled person, but he looked so much like a tiny little human in there! Good luck with your cfDNA results! Are you going to learn the sex?

Aww...congratulations!!! I'm so glad everything is good!

@redheadbride15 I've actually been described as even-keeled more than once, and I ugly/crazy cried for 15 minutes after I got the call that I was having a girl. I took a shower so I could go tell DH and my parents the news and I cried the entire time, shaking, sometimes laughing, and periodically saying "I'm going to have a daughter." It was the like the past year and the two losses mixed with my joy and erupted into insanity. Happy insanity.

@CarrieandRoy yes to happy insanity! I don't know if it's hormones or just simply feeling overwhelmed at the reality of becoming a mom when I spent so long almost resigned to the idea that I never would... I've become a total sap
