Due Date

Based on the first day of my last period (12/14/15), I am 6 weeks today (due 9/19/16).  However, I did not receive positive tests until about 10-12 days AFTER my missed period, which leads me to believe I ovulated much later than the normal 14 day 'middle of the cycle' time period.  Has anyone had anything similar like this before?  Thanks!

Probably you did ovulate later. You ovulate not in the middle of your cycle, but two weeks before you get your period. It's also possible you just weren't producing enough HGC to be detected on a pregnancy test until 10-12 days later.

 But what real difference does it make at this point?  Your doc will give you a due date based on your ultrasound anyway.

I usually always ovulate around CD20 and have a 35 day cycle.  My cycles the last few months were shorter and I took ovulation tests this time around so I know that I ovulated on CD15.  How long are your cycles?

They've always been 28 days so I was surprised to be so late without a positive. With my 2nd I detected apositive before missed period.

Just make sure your Dr or midwife knows this and they will order an early dating ultrasound.  This isn't standard everywhere, where I live, you only get a 20 week anatomy scan if you are sure of your dates.  It's most important if you plan to get IPS testing (for Downs, Spina bifida and trisomy-18) as this test is very time sensitive so you need to know your exact dates to make sure you don't miss your window.
