To the people who don't shovel their sidewalks- screw you. The 2 feet of snow we got this weekend was bad enough, but I can't physically climb over the mountains of it you leave on the sidewalks. And the ice patches? I can't walk on them. My 12 minute walk to the train took me about 20 this morning thanks to having to dodge your crappy shoveling jobs.

I'll be the giant pregnant lady walking in the road till this nonsense melts away, thank you very much.
Ugh. I have no patience for that BS even when I'm not knocked up. The worst part is that people will trample a path right through (because they don't have a choice), and the negligent sidewalk clearer won't bother once that happens because it gets even harder to remove. It melts and freezes and melts and freezes and turns into terrible ice, and then it's slippery until spring. It's so unsafe.

Don't know where you live, but it might be worth checking with your city to see what the local ordinances are on snow removal. In my experience, the quickest way to ensure that sidewalks actually get cleared is to report the jerkoffs who don't do it.  A ticket from the city is a nice motivator!

I have my glucose test on Friday. I'm soooooo nervous. Another BFM I have is that Shopko is wayyy too overpriced. They are so expensive! Why is everything twice as much as Target or Walmart? I have a $25 gift card but I can't justify spending $18 on a baby outfit when I can go elsewhere for half that price.

    And their website is UGLY.

  • I came down with a miserable stomach bug this weekend, luckily only 24 hours it seems, but I've had to take my 3rd day off work in the last week (2 for weather, 1 for sickness) and I just can't afford to take off any more time! I want to save my PTO. Why do you do this to me, body? WHYYYYY?!

BFM Part 2 is more of a WTF to myself, but hey, it's Monday.
I just got back from my appointment (all good!) and realized I forgot to request my TDaP booster... again. My office has you mention it to the nurse when you check in (so you can pick your sore shoulder day) and they can have it ready for you when they take you back and I've completely forgotten twice now. I'm setting an alarm on my phone for my next appointment, but I wanted to avoid adding anything to that one (32 weeks) because that's when DD started measuring off, so I'm a little stressed about it already and know I'll be distracted.

  • I wish we could just eat something like catfood to get all the nutrition we need. I'm so sick of how much protein, calcium, iron, calories, etc. humans need to get through their diets. Food is the biggest hassle ever in life! ALAS!!!!!
  • Add me to the list of glucose test failures. I had a 152, a bit over the 140 threshold. Now I get to take off a half day (!) this Wednesday and drink twice as much of that crap. Thankfully, I had a doctor appointment today and baby is healthy (and HUGE) and my doctor did a good job of acting like 152 was no big deal.

Did you just say you wish you could eat cat food? O.o

I know what you mean, that just made me laugh way harder than it should have XD

I failed my one-hour. A lot of people do. I was super upset for about a week because I apparently I failed it terribly. Add to that the fact that I have a GIANT f-ing baby inside of me, (sonographers actually ask me if I have GD!!) I was totally convinced I would fail the 3-hour. The test wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be and I actually passed it with flying colors
  • @JanaBonfield *hugs* I can't imagine how difficult that is. It really is awesome having people care SO much about you, but I totally get you on the smothering thing. It's also really good you realize how lucky you are, but don't feel guilty for needing space! There are times right now I don't even want DH near me (granted they are relatively few) so is totally normal to be stressed with your in-laws always there. Hang in there!!

Really wish DH would not smoke hooka or cigars while I'm preggo. He's cut back drastically on cigars but now that we have a mudroom with windows, he's taking advantage of it. Our mudroom door has a small cat flap so the smell seeps into the house and it's really annoying. I've always gotten headaches with hooka smoke. I recall my doctor said "Tell him to grow up. You're pregnant. Can't he give up smoking?"

Also, I haven't experienced tears but man do I get pissed off a lot easier. I feel bad for the hubby but at the same time, I still get so pissy when I'm hungry and he makes me wait!

  • @aeg84 our electronic opener quit working a couple of weeks ago too - still unhappy about that one and we don't even use the garage for parking.
  • @cmjenkies I wish that was the problem. To my (untrained) eye, I think it's a structural issue with the door and the whole thing will probably have to be replaced. I'm pretty sure it's the original door from when the house was built about 20 years ago :/

  • My mom just asked me when we plan on moving. I told her the quick and easy answer: once we find a place that we can afford. Until we pay off these medical bills and try and whittle down some of our debt, I don't think we'll make enough to move out before LO is born... Especially since DH is switching jobs next month and they only pay monthly versus bi-weekly. At least the new job will pay more?

  • I talked with my boss yesterday about maternity leave and how I wanted to take at least 8 weeks off. He was very quick to remind me that I won't be getting paid (which I already knew) and suggested if I felt up to it I could come back for a few hours a week 3-4 weeks post baby...umm yeah ok. I just smiled and said sure...as I fully intend on putting in my 8 weeks notice (required by my stupid contract) the moment baby comes. I can't wait to quit!
  • My BFM is coming late, because I just got power back yesterday. So this bitch fest goes out to you, Duke Progress Energy/Winter Storm Jonas. We got about 2 inches of pure ice on Friday, and lost power around 5 PM. Didn't get it back until around 9:00 AM on Monday! But, I was still able to watch the Panthers/Cardinals game Sunday and YAY Panthers are going to the Superbowl! So I guess the weekend wasn't a complete waste.
