I've co slept with my daughter since the day she was born. Around 4 months we transitioned into her crib and she slept through the night 10-12 hours straight. We went away on vacation then and she came home with a cold which put her off track completely. Now when we try to put her in the crib she wakes up immediately and flips out. I'm not into the cry out method. I don't mind co sleeping but I do want her to sleep in her crib now. Any tips?
Re: 8 month old co sleeping
It sounds like the cold is gone right OP? (I would agree with this if baby was still sick)
I'm not sure why parents think that CIO is the only method to try. That is the most extreme method of sleep training or crib training but it's not the only one.
If you do in fact want her in her crib and you don't want to co-sleep then you just have to be consistent. It will take work but I think it can be done. Anything you try will involve some tears, besides co-sleeping, but I personally liked doing interval checks with my kids. Go in every 10 minutes or so until your LO calms down and goes to sleep. Just stay consistent and it will work.
She has a paci, I have a sound machine, I've slept with her security blanket so that it smells like me and I have her snuggle on it but she goes insane the second I put her down.
What other methods have you mamas tried? Cio is garbage imo lol
Also-heating pad!!! I warm up her spot in the crib with the heating pad and then of course take it out. If she's fallen asleep with me I can transfer her and I'd say it works 8 times out of 10.
