First baby I had a petunia pickle bottom diaper bag, but now I'm looking for something more practical and light weight. What's your diaper bag and what do you like about it?
I haven't purchased a diaper bag yet, but this is the one I plan to get. It's a little pricey, but I like the styling. If no one purchases it as a shower gift, I will be buying it.

I have the Vera Bradley Convertible Baby bag. It's not available on their website anymore, but some third party sellers carry it. I love the organization, the fun colors, and the ease of washing it. It's compact, but also carries a lot of stuff. I has small handles as well as an adjustable strap that can be worn as a shoulder bag, messenger bag, or back-pack. It comes with a changing pad too. (Pictured below)
I had the Make a Change VB bag when DS was first born, and honestly, it was too big and clunky for me.
I actually used a pre-K sized backpack from Pottery Barn as my diaper bag. I had two boys close together, so I hooked them with a carabiner and it was easy to put on my back (as one). It easily fit just essentials. When the boys started walking they could carry their own bag. I kept a larger tote in the car that had toys and even more things, just in case. I plan to get another small back pack for this little one. I liked my big diaper bag, but I eventually got tired of hauling it.
I have the Timi & Leslie Rachael bag from my first, love it! Going to keep it, or get another Timi & Leslie. I love that they don't look like diaper bags, but like a normal bag! All the accessories are great too.
I'm glad to see this thread because I keep changing my mind about what I want. I'm considering just getting a Fjallraven Kanken back pack and using that as a diaper bag. I thought I wanted a Jujube BFF diaper bag until I saw one in person, it just wasn't my style. Right now I've got this skip hop duo signature diaper bag on my registry as a place holder but I'm not sold on it. I'll probably change it up a few more times before the LO is here.
I'm so torn on this because having 2 in cloth diapers calls for a lot of room needed! I've been curious about jujube ... I think the be prepared? It's huge but might be the one for me...
Since my DH is a teacher and he's going to be a full time SAHD for the summer once I go back to work I let him pick out the diaper bag. He will be using it way more than I will in the beginning anyway so he chose this:
It's made by Columbia, is very durable, has tons of pockets, and he likes the color. I think he will be able to keep his man card with this bag if he needs to go somewhere on his own.
I don't have it yet... waiting for it to pop up on Zulilly again. It will be a late xmas present from DH. Its Maranda Lee- check out her Etsy shop if you need some diaper bag inspiration. They are super cute, and I like the more fashion forward ones. Just a bit pricey so waiting for a good deal.
Mine is similar to this but with a blue stripe instead of pink. I got it used for $50 so I don't feel bad about using it or getting it dirty with being a diaper bag.
@kbrands7 I have been looking for a VB backpack for baby. The only one they have on their site is black. I wanted something more fun. I've looked online but I can't seem to find any. Do you happen to know of any sites that sell them?
It's basically an organizer that fits inside any regular (larger) tote or handbag to make it a diaper bag. I'm considering this option since this is less expensive than many diaper bags and I can use it with at least three of my existing purses off the top of my head.
S+TMs, is there a reason this ISN'T a good idea that I'm not thinking of?
I have not used a diaper bag since….#3? I can't find anything I like, ever. Plus, I'm never far from home, so I just put stuff in my regular bag and leave.
I feel so much less fashion-forward than all of you ladies! I'm not too particular about the style of diaper bag I will get, but I do like this JJ Cole off Amazon. I told DH to pick one out so he has his own 'style', and this is what he chose Whatever he's comfortable with!

I have this one from Pottery Barn in another color from when I had DD but I think I'll order in gray or blue for baby boy. I really loved it the first time, pockets galore and expandable if you want to pack in it.
While I wish there was one I found that I felt was just as fashionable (and hubby appropriate too) as it was functional, I didn't so we went with the Boken Every Day Diaper Bag. It can be a tote, a messenger bag, or a backpack and looks like it fits a ton of stuff.

Although I'm really not a big fan of this chevron trend that seems to be overtaking nurseries and bathrooms everywhere, this is the bag on my registry also. I love the size and shape! I wish they had a few more styles. I have only seen this, the triangle and the black. The bag I would prefer to have is out of stock everywhere I look. I can find it in black and brown but not this one.
A friend recommended Petunia Pickle Bottom, and I found this adorable pattern new on Amazon for much less than what I've seen PPB bags typically sell for in stores. My husband and I will both be carrying this bag.

@babyfmama I love my tote saavy! I've been using it since DS was around 6 months (22 months now) but my friend is using hers with her infant and toddler and it works perfectly! I have the black one and I just ordered a new grey one. It easily transitioned from baby to toddler needs.
I have a few diaper bags but they never really fit my style so I super splurged on a tote bag that I had wanted for awhile and use that with the tote saavy. When I'm not with DS I use the same bag just minus the organizer. I love that I can use any of my pre-baby bags and still fit all of my mom stuff. I can't recommend it enough!

I also put this on my amazon registry. I'm also trying to decide what to do. I'm having twins (they're my 3rd & 4th). Diaper bags get SO heavy. I always felt like having things handy was well worth it though. Just when you leave the house without that extra outfit....there's the blowout. Anyway, with twins it sounds like backpacks are most popular. I'm not 'into' the backpack mom look, but it sounds like it's going to be a must. The Boken bag looks super light-weight. I may just keep my eye out for a 'regular' bag in stores that would be cheaper.
It's still in great condition but I found it a little small with all of the bottles and paraphernalia that they come with. I'm hoping to breastfeed this time so hopefully it is a little more roomy.
It took me a long time to decide...with DS I had a Vera Bradley shoulder tote diaper bag I found cheap on ruelala. But I learned that for me a full bag on one shoulder wasn't comfortable. Plus it has gotten raggedy. So we are going with the jujube bff. It can be messenger or backpack which is just awesome. I'm going to use it as my purse (messenger style) for my trip to France and I'm super excited to test it out! Since I'll have two kids I anticipate using it as a backpack once it really is a diaper bag!
@LadySamLady I got the skip hop duo as an early gift from my mom- I'm obsessed with it!!
We have this exact bag in gray - it made it through one baby, and we will use it again for the next one! My husband and I picked gray bc he said we would be fine carrying it, and I don't have any major complaints. Easy to wash too, Definitely recommend!
The Skip Hop one (Chevron) is in dark gray. I mostly carry the AU bag bc DH steals stuff out of the SH one and never puts it back. The SH one has a lot of room. MY only complaint is it's kinda like a purse in that everything slides to the bottom and isn't that easy to find.

We have this one on our registry (Skip Hop Duo Signature in heather grey)... I thought about the chevron one as well, but DH said he would be more likely to carry this around if needed so we went with this color.

I love it because it doesn't necessarily look like a diaper bag

I got this Kate Spade one on eBay for a steal. I love all the pockets inside and the stroller clips.

This Michael Kors diaper bag is in 2nd place:

I also have the baby backpack but actually use it as a work backpack! I might start using this as the diaper bag so I will have 2 hands free!

While this Vera Bradley bag isn't the diaper bag I'm getting, it's really cute and on sale at Zulily right now for more than half off ($55.99). I came across it earlier while I was looking for something else.
