Introduction

Hi everyone.  I've been following this board for quite some time now, but this is my first post.  I'm hoping to make some friends who can relate to the struggles of IF.  I've found that I don't really have anyone to talk to about all the emotions I've been feeling throughout this process.

My back-story: Over the past 5-6 years I've been seeing an amazing RE and have had 8 laparoscopies for Endometriosis in hopes to preserve my fertility. DH and I have been TTC for 16 months now and RE says I'm not ovulating on my own (I had been monitoring BBT and CM so I already figured as much).  We had one failed IUI attempt (Gonal-F + Ovidrel) back in October.  We were hoping to do our second round in November, but I had cysts and had to take the month off.  Since then, I've been doing a little reading and decided to make some changes in my diet to see if I could get my body to start ovulating on its own (I know its a long-shot, but hey, why not give it a try?).  Plus, this time off will allow us to build up some more funds for additional treatment.

I'm still learning the "lingo" and trying to understand the lab result levels, etc. so please go easy on me!

Welcome @kaityh1 to the Bump! This board is a great place to learn, and most importantly VENT! I'm going to be getting a laparoscopy in February to check for endo, how is it? I've never had surgery, and I'm scared as hell

Hi @RipleyLV426 - I understand your nervousness! I was super nervous with my first few but they're really not too bad.  I always think the worst part is the IV!  You'll be pretty sore when its all over and done (like really bad menstrual cramps).  You might have a bit of shoulder pain from the gas they put in your belly but walking around a bit when you're ready helps.  Good luck with the procedure and let me know how it goes!

Hey @RipleyLV426, good luck with your surgery. I know surgery seems scary, but don be nervous, think of the results atleast u'll get know that hopefully everything is fine.

@kaityh1 Welcome! I'm also fairly new. Just joined last month after doing my first IUI (without success). I feel like most of my friends get pregnant with the snap of a finger, so they don't really understand (With the exception of one who is currently chasing after one year old twins after IVF). This community has made me feel so much better by just being able to write it all down and talk to people going through the same thing. Enjoy your time off, but Fx for a BFP soon!  

@RipleyLV426 Good luck on your surgery! FYI: That last picture on your signature is exactly me. I mean, what if I didn't wait long enough for the line?! It could be there!!!!!! LMAO!!!!!!!

@kaityh1 welcome. Sorry you have had so many struggles! I hope your stay here is short.
@RipleyLV426 kaityh1 is correct. The IV is the worst part. But it's worth it when they start giving you those amazing drugs! You sleep through the surgery, so that's the easy part. As with any laparoscopic surgery, you will be filled with gasses and that will most likely be the source of the post-op discomfort. One word...WALK! Walk as soon as you are able and walk as much as you are able. Trust me! This will be better than any pain medication they could give you. Good luck!

welcome @kaityh1-we all know how it is to feel like we have no one to talk to, vent to, cry to, or understand what we're going through. This forum is amazing, and I feel so blessed to have found it. Granted, I feel like a crack addict who can't get enough now haha. I hope you find it a safe space, and get all the support you need and more. In terms of diet, I think although maybe a long shot, definitely worth doing regardless. I changed my diet and have had significant changes in my overall health, energy, and cycle. So it does have an affect. The significance or amount it affects the cycle? who knows. But a healthy lifestyle will certainly only be a positive! Big three are Wheat Dairy and Sugar, but everyone seems to be trying different health diets, so whatever you find that works for you will no doubt be great! Good luck to you!

Welcome. I am in the same boat. Not really having anybody to talk to about IF, so I joined the community for a little support. It's nice to have people who are feeling the same and going through the same things as you.

THANK YOU @NurseTMD85! I'm so nervous! But I have a good feeling about this one. Last BFP I got, my numbers weren't doubling, and I was only tired and kinda dizzy. Now (After they found my numbers were almost tripling) It's 3 hour naps in the middle of the day and puking my guts up! Never been so happy to feel so crap!
