Hi everyone!
Just spoke to my RE/OBGYN about our new plan. If there's a BFN this round, I will start Clomid(about next week). I was wondering when everyone took theirs and if they had any side effects? I'm really nervous as I have a very sensitive stomach. And since the last time I took a new med(morphine), I had an extremely bad reaction and found out I'm allergic, I've been avoiding taking any medicine. DH says I'm paranoid and everything will be fine, but it scared me.
Any tips/things that helped you, would be great!
THANKS!
Re: Clomid- Time & Side Effects
As for side effects, it really varies for different people. I had a weird ache in my shoulder all 3 cycles (same place, same time in cycle), and my acupuncturist thought it could be related to how changing hormone levels can change pain sensitivity. My last cycle I felt that it may have increased my anxiety levels. I think the major thing is to tell your RE about your side effects and make sure you are comfortable communicating, so you can switch up the meds next cycle if Clomid is not a good option for you.

I usually call my doctor about once a week now, lol, so I think communication is good. We plan on one cycle with Clomid then the next with Fermera. She told me some people respond better to one over the other.
Did you write symptoms down or chart anything during? And how do you like acupuncture?!
When I was on BCP I always had to take it right before bed because otherwise I would get incredibly nauseous so I was thinking of doing the same with Clomid just in case.
Good luck to you!
Good luck to you!
And yes, some people respond well to Clomid, others don't. If you do respond well, I would encourage you to think seriously (and talk to your RE, of course) before switching--mine was very much in favor of sticking w/the Clomid since I responded well (multiple follicles of good size, no lining thinning) and convinced me when I thought switching would be more aggressive.
I really like acupuncture. I had never done it before, and I go to a provider who specializes in fertility (natural cycles and IUI/IVF cycles). If nothing else, it was 30 minutes where I was lying in a room and relaxing. Edited to add that a big part of what she said the point was while I was on Clomid was to reduce/treat side effects.
