This might be a silly question...but what snacks are you packing for DH?
Nothing. He wants snacks, he can pack his own snacks. I've got enough to take care of, and unlike me, he'll actually be able to leave and go get takeout if he wants.
Funny you should say that cause that's exactly what i said to him last night!!

I asked DH what he wanted me to pack and he said he needed to think about it...that was three weeks ago! I think they really just can't conceive of what they might need.
This is my third csection, so I am going pretty light. What I wear in is my also what I will wear home. I will bring an extra set of pants, extra top, 1 pair of socks, hair ties, comb, toiletries, and phone/charger. I ended up wearing their gowns most of the time as it was just easy. I rocked the mesh chonies and super pads for the first day, then went to my own thinner pads. I can't deal with those giant pads. Otherwise I am planning on two basic outfits for baby and that's it. My hubby can fend for himself, again.
Only packed one bag this time around. Honestly don't remember much about what I packed last time, but I remember I didn't need much in the hospital. They had basically everything I needed, for me and baby, and I ended up taking a bags worth of extra stuff home.
In in bringing a light robe, a nighty, two maternity bras, comfy socks, a leaving dress, disposable underwear, 2 outfits for baby, honey sticks, chap stick, hair ties, prenatals, my tablet and charger (cause I'm taking classes and I can't afford to miss work if I want an A, and also my phones camera is broken ) andddd I feel like that's it.
I think I'm gonna bring an extra empty bag this time just in case to carry the extra stuffs.
In the hospital now and even though the baby isn't here, I urge everyone to bring a sleep mask. My goodness there are so many things that give off light.

And earbuds!! The nurses are not gentle when it comes to rolling around trollies etc.
Eta: By earbuds I do mean earplugs. My mind is wired lol - but pack earbuds as well lol.
I've packed a swim short for DH In case he wants to accompany me to the shower at hospital should I be using it for labour/ pain relief . Guess while I won't care at all if I'm butt naked by that time he might:-)
Felt a popping sensation last night, so of course I lost my mind and started packing the hospital bag and making DH grab his stuff (and sleeping with a towel under myself). babys still in there, but now my bag is packed and I have a list of what I'll need to pack day of because I use them mostly every day.
Been in the hospital for over a week now - I would recommend, if anyone hasn't, a sleepy mask and earplugs. If you end up being there a while, you will need them for blocking out the sun, machine noises, and ambient sounds.
Just an FYI can't remember who but someone mentioned Colace. Check with your hospital. They may actually provide that as part of your care. They did at mine. And then even wrote a script for it that made it only 80 cents at CVS after my insurance coverage. So it was cheaper than the OTC

Make sure to check how much they charge you to take it at the hospital though. Some jack their prices on OTC meds during your stay.

I didn't realize that a lot of women don't pack for their DH/SO. Our hospital is 25 minutes away so DH won't be running to and from the hospital. We'll have my mother here with the kids and my brother helping out with the dogs. I'm sure DH (being that his is 4th time-technically 3rd because he wasn't there for the birth of our 2nd) will pack his own clothes but I do all the grocery shopping in general and that is why I will be getting snacks. My DH is a pretty awesome guy to have in the hospital while in labor and I know my labor comes fast and when it does I would rather have DH hanging out with me rather than missing the birth over a cheeseburger.
ETA: Regarding my fast labor, with my second baby I dilated from a 1-10 in 20 minutes and only pushed 3 times before DS2 came out.

Stuck in the box!
As my Bradley Method instructor put it, L&D nurses are find with naked moms. Naked dads, not so much
Vitamins, a few snacks, chapstick, nipple cream, hair ties and headbands, phone charger
Clothes for me (a few tank tops that will work with nursing, nursing bra, 2 shorts, sweatpants, old robe, socks and slippers)
Clothes for DH (shorts, 2 t-shirts, swim trunks, boxers, socks)
Entertainment (a few dvds, cards, speaker for music)
Baby things (a few outfits in different sizes, 1 nice blanket and 2 receiving blankets, 2 diapers, nail clippers and file)
The nurse teaching our labor class was adamant that we bring baby nail care equipment because they don't provide it. I want to bring our camera too but don't want to leave it in the car so I hope we remember to grab it. I have a couple towels and a pillow in the car but I'm not sure if I will actually bring those things in. If I ever remember to order my breast pump I will likely have that in the car too so I can ask the lactation consultant questions about it.
In different variations. Everyone is different but my internal thermometer was haywire in the hospital. I'd get cold, then hot, then some body parts were cold, then hot. It was a mess but I liked having the option for layers or none. ETA: I also bled on some clothes so the change of clothes was good. I had a c section so I was in the hospital for 3 days and 2 nights.

Biggest thing is parachute panties!! I usually wear a medium in panties and got XXL in boy shorts. You don't want anything tight on your incision. My yoga pants were maternity yoga pants bc they weren't tight around my incision either. I wore (am wearing again) DH's old boxers bc they were reallly loose where I needed them to be. I'm going to have a binder for afterwards but am not wearing it until I get home. There's a lot of ladies here that take it to wear in the hospital. I'm going to take a compression tank but am waiting on the binder for when I get home.

Uhm, a bit of advice - please pack your bags if you haven't yet! I am only 34 weeks and got admitted today - probably won't be delivering or having my csection with this stay, but I had to go back home and pack my bag and realised how much stuff I still need. Will make do with what I have with me and the rest will be bought by my mum or DH so is all fine. But packing definitely put a damper on how quickly I got to the hospital
This ^^^. I'm only 36 weeks and went to the hospital for what I thought was probably BH but looks like it's likely the start of the real thing. Had to do a late night pharmacy run to get pads, etc and then home to pack the hospital bag at 2am. Would much rather have dealt with this during the daylight hours!
I pack snacks for my DH since I actually like him being there with me in the room. He is also a constant snacker and always hungry so me throwing extra snacks in a bag takes no effort and lets him relax and gives us more time together as a family
I've been adding to my bag on and off for a while now. One thing I had forgotten is my hospital recommends bringing a check for the birth certificate. I rarely write checks but I threw one in the bag because I will never remember that other wise.
@mcb2016I don't know about where you live but I had t go to the local health department to get DD's birth certificate. It's not something that we paid for ahead of time.
@obryana6219 I live in VA. I was surprised myself but it was listed in the PDF file provided by the hospital I'm delivering at as things to bring. They mention you can just mail it from home but I'm sure it will never get mailed if I don't do it then.
