Any one lost there mucus plug? How did you know it was that? I woke up this morning and it almost seemed as tho I wet myself when I went to wipe I just got a glob of "mucus" what could this be? Help!
I lost mine a couple weeks ago..I kind of thought that's what it was and when I googled it it looked exactly like some of the pictures..like really thick mucus, I guess lol.

I lost bits of mine over the holidays and every now and again I wonder if I'm losing more or if it's just protein that I never paid attention to before. It definitely is thicker and like a blob not like typical discharge!
Not to pry into your life or start something that's TMI but did you have unprotected sex the night before? If he finished inside you it could be that. Doesn't sound like it, but it's possible.
I never noticed one with DS. Lost it a week or two before DD was born. I think I had a bit come out last night (who knows it could have just been discharge). It basically looks like you blew your nose. Sometimes it's a big piece, sometimes not.
It probably is part of your plug..or could just be normal discharge. We produce a lot more discharge in the third trimester and it can be gooey. I started losing mine during thanksgiving, but it grows back. As long as there's no blood in it, it doesn't mean that labor is near or anything.

I lost mine before I went into labor with my DD and it was just that. A big glob of goo. Definitely not the same consistency as the discharge I'd been having. Like others have said, it doesn't necessarily mean that labor is impending.

Here's my experience: with DD I lost some of my mucus plug at 36 weeks after an internal exam. It looked like snotty discharge when I wiped. Then at 40 weeks I truly lost my plug, in large chunks throughout one day. Everytime I wiped, I had snot colored/consistency discharge with some streaks of blood. I went into labor less than 48 hours later. Basically after 34-36 weeks your mucus plug probably won't regenerate, but as you slowly (or quickly) efface, you may loose little bits along the way. This pregnancy, as I hit 37 weeks, I started to loose a little of my plug. This time it is a clear gelatinous discharge, not snot colored or blood stained yet. All of those possibilities are normal. If it's just really liquidy discharge, it may just be hormonal changes... But chunky, snotty consistency is more a mucus plug. This may sound gross (b/c it is), you can google mucus plug photos and you will see pictures of what other people's mucus plugs looked like when they came out.
I just want to say, I was always so grossed out by mucus plug pictures and never knew why anyone would ever subject people to them, but I just finally lost mine and I think I understand. Don't worry, I did not take a picture, but I get wanting to share now. It was so disgusting that it was actually cool, hahahaha. Maybe I'm just a gross person. Anyway, I know it doesn't mean anything about labor timing but I am glad to at least have some sort of progress because I've been stalled at 1 1/2 cm, 75% effaced for weeks.
