Okay, so I am not expecting DS to be completely silent when sleeping and getting himself to sleep, but does anyone else have a baby that makes so much noise it almost drowns out the white noise you're using to help get them to sleep?
After his bottle, we swaddle DS and put his pacifier in his mouth and usually snuggle with him for 10-15 minutes before putting him into his bassinet. Almost every time we put him down regardless of how long we hold him, he makes so much noise that he never ends up fully falling asleep by the time his next feeding rolls around or it takes him around 45 minutes to an hour of his rambling/gurgling/cooing/hiccuping/snarling, before falling asleep and staying asleep. DH tried putting him to bed without the pacifier, thinking that maybe it was interfering with him getting to sleep, but he just cries and demands it. He always ends up spitting it out at some point in the process and about 7/10 he's okay with it falling out and doesn't cry to have it put back in.
I recently started to equate all of the noise making to whether or not he was constipated/gassy. Last night for instance and even after this morning's feeding at 6:30, DS hadn't had a bowl moment since yesterday's diaper change at 3pm. He went through 5 feedings since and only had a little smudge in his diaper when I changed him at 6:15 this morning. DH gave him a does of gas drops at his 9 pm feeding and I gave him a dose at his 3 am feeding this morning and still nothing came of it. Has anyone else experienced this and found some ways to get LO to settle into sleep more easily? I'll add that I am giving him pumped milk and feeding him Enfamil's Supplementing formula. He gets a bottle of formula after every 2 bottles of my milk.
