Re: Weekend Ticker Change 1/16 & 1/17

  • week/fruit: 23/grapefruit

rants/raves/symptoms: Nothing really symptom wise. Just hoping it stays that way. :)

    upcoming appointments: 1/26

gtky: who are you planning to have in the delivery room? Besides the people medically necessary, just my DH. I've had a few people ask if I wanted anyone else in there (I know bc they probably wanted to be in there as well) and I told them no. Hopefully that will be respected come time.

  • week/ fruit: 21/pomegranate

rants/raves/symptoms: Hello belly! I have popped so much this week.

upcoming appointments: Thursday- OB check up

questions for the group: maybe tmi(?) Lately it seems like my undies arn't getting all the way clean when they come out of the wash. Anyone notice a big change in CM to cause this? or is my detergent not cutting it anymore?

gtky: who are you planning to have in the delivery room? I haven't decided if I'm going to allow my mom and ILs in the room while I'm in labor. But when it comes time to push it will just be DH. I don't mind if they are there before hand but I definitely want a good amount of time for just the 3 of us before we bring in anyone. But knowing they are just down the hall waiting for 1hr+ makes me feel weird so maybe I won't call anybody until after our time together.
  • week/ fruit: 23/ mango (my favorite fruit!)

rants/raves/symptoms: how amazing is it to feel LO move and kick?! I've been getting some killer heartburn though which I would be happy to do without- it's horrible! And I peed my pants a lil today when I laughed...

upcoming appointments: 2/8 for glucose test. Nervous as I have such a sweet tooth!!!

gtky: who are you planning to have in the delivery room? Just DH and I. As I was getting ready to reply here I told him I don't want his parents there at all- even before pushing. He agrees, so that's a relief!

  • week/ fruit: 22/papaya

rants/raves/symptoms: Just over all achy and feeling like a whiny baby. I keep waiting for the energetic part of second tri, but I think it's skipping me this pregnancy. I'm dealing with lots of cervix kicks, but I'll take the low kicks over the ribs kicks and heartburn any day.

    upcoming appointments: on the 26th

    questions for the group:

gtky: who are you planning to have in the delivery room?
I plan on having H and possibly my mom in the delivery room. I might have my mom watch DS though, so if that's the case it will just be H. It was only H last time, no one else was invited to the hospital until the next day.

  • Week/Fruit: 25/Cauliflower

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: sciatica and heartburn have kicked in.

    Upcoming appointments: Thursday morning.

GTKY: Who are you planning on having in the delivery room? Just the dh and I.
  • week/ fruit:  21 weeks!  pomegranate

rants/raves/symptoms:  feeling great this week!  Just some contractions that spark my anxiety and insomnia (no change from the rest of the pregnancy).

upcoming appointments:  Jan. 25th I will see my OB for my regular monthly appt. Then I have my cervical length ultrasound and the MFM appt afterward.  The appts are down the street from each other, and my wonderful MIL watches the twins on Mondays, so I try to make all of my appts for that day.

questions for the group:  I will ask my OB this Q, but when to appts change from monthly to every 2 weeks?

gtky: who are you planning to have in the delivery room?  I will be having a repeat c-section, so just DH.  The discussion for us this time around (hoping that I don't go into labor before my c/s date), is how to handle visitors the day of the delivery.  I'm sure my inlaws will be watching the twins while DH and I are at the hospital, unless my parents are already in town.  Ideally, I would like visitors to come after the twin's nap time, or 3pm ish or later, if I have a c/s at 8 or 10am.  That's the ideal scenario.  Two year olds don't do waiting rooms well.  Please just stay at home!

  • @ yogahh My OB had me do an early 1hr test because I have PCOS (and a family history and a huge sweet tooth), at 18 weeks, and thankfully I passed.  I like to think I tolerate sugar well - I hope the same is true for you!  Good Luck.
I will have to do another one in the regular window, 24-28 weeks.  I'm trying to decide if I should do it at 24 or later, at 28weeks.  I have to do it separately from my OB appts because they don't have a lab on site...so it's my decision  :)

  • @JennyS86 I want to say my dr changes to 3 week appointments at 28 weeks, and then 2 week appointments at 33 weeks, and 1 week at 37 weeks. Something like that.
  • @ SweetBriarBee Thank you!  I guess every 3 weeks is a possibility that I didn't even consider. Special pregnancy brain  :)

  • Week/fruit: 24, cantaloupe

Rants/raves/symptoms: I've been feeling great aside from major heartburn. And I love feeling her move all day long.

Upcoming appts: 28th for regular check up and supposedly I'll have to do the glucose test the week after but no appt will be made until the 28th. Why not just do it on the 28th!? Kaiser can be annoying. We're doing a 3d ultrasound on Feb 6th and taking our parents. Can't wait for that. Also I'm anxious to book my c section date. I'm just a planner and can't wait to set the date.

    Questions: no questions right now

GTKY: who will you have in the delivery room? Having a repeat c section so it will be just DH and I. Although he is terrified. He thinks he'll faint. A friend of ours is a mother and baby nurse and she gave him some tips. There's no way he won't be in there with me!
  • @ cortney626   I agree with you - I want a c-section date!!   Also, Happy Viability Day to you!

  • week/ fruit: 21/pomegranate

rants/raves/symptoms: Found out we're pretty sure we're having a girl and have settled on our name.  Feeling lots of movement this week up until today, but she's been pretty quiet today - I read in other threads that she's in a growth spurt, which might also explain my hunger lately!  Still having consistent heartburn, but that's my worst symptom.

    upcoming appointments: None til February

    questions for the group: none

gtky: who are you planning to have in the delivery room? Obviously my husband and hopefully my sister if she makes it into town on time - she's thinking she's going to come from Alaska for a vacation when baby comes so if she's here when baby decides to make her appearance then I think she'll be in with me.  I was in the delivery room when she gave birth to her son, and she's really the only family member that I'd want in with me other than husband because she's pretty calm and always positive.  I feel like she wouldn't bring any stress and would be super helpful.  If she doesn't make it into town, it'll probably just be me and Husband.
  • week/ fruit: 21/pomegranate

rants/raves/symptoms: got the weirdest cramps last night but they have gone away since.
My belly is huge - people are now saying I look proper pregnant.

    upcoming appointments: 21st for AS - excited/nervous

questions for the group: anyone else experience cramps around the 21 week mark?

gtky: who are you planning to have in the delivery room?
Don't think anyone is allowed in except for my DH - but I will probably not have anyone in the waiting room. Will let people know when they can come though - I don't want people waiting and holding baby if we're not both well.

Answered my own question - please ignore :)
  • week/ fruit: 25/cauliflower, baseball mitt

rants/raves/symptoms: Reflux is probably the worse right now. I went to a chiropractor for my sciatica, and that's been gone for days, such a relief!

DH has been able to feel the him kick, too! He's looking forward to it being harder and more predictable, though.

upcoming appointments: On Friday with the MFM just to make sure his kidneys are developing ok. I'm not too worried, more excited about an extra u/s, so DH is coming along, too.

    questions for the group: Nope

gtky: who are you planning to have in the delivery room? Just DH, that's it.

So I never remember to do this on my actual ticker change day so I figured I'll jump on board yours for today

ETA so I typed a whole thing and now it's gone. And I'm hungry. So that's that.
  • Can someone tell me what MFM stands for?  I see it all the time, but I have no clue what it means!

MFM stands for Maternal Fetal Medicine, or High Risk OB

  • 25 wks. Cauliflower

Braxton Hicks, hiccups, heartburn, still extremely dry skin. A lot more rapid movements. Tonight I felt a painful movement it felt like his elbow, knee , foot. It was more like a shove. It hurt....

My mother and husband will be in the room.

My upcoming appt. will Feb. 2 for gestational diabetes. Yep.
  • week/ fruit: 23/grapefruit

    rants/raves/symptoms: Braxton hicks, heartburn,

    upcoming appointments: February 1

gtky: who are you planning to have in the delivery room? My husband was the only one for our first, and I am on the fence about maybe having my mom with us because I know she would love it. Need to feel out husband because I can easily repeat just the two of us if he is uncomfortable with it. Actually, I am not sure about it. My mom is my best friend, and I just want her to have the experience of watching her granddaughter being born, but there is something to be said about the two people who made her being the only two people being there for her birth. . .

  • pooputtette I'm having this too. Gross I know. But you are not alone :)

  • week/ fruit: 25/cauliflower

rants/raves/symptoms:  heartburn, OMG. I'm also feeling oddly depressed, thank you hormones.  The snow is not helping here either.  I'm hoping the magical nesting phase makes an appearance soon.

upcoming appointments:  So, I have one on Wednesday that I am going to cancel, because I am meeting a new dr/practice on Friday.  It feels a little crazy to switch at week almost-26, but after talking with a few people who use the new practice I think it might be a better fit for me.

questions for the group:  On that note, has anyone every changed practices this late?

gtky: who are you planning to have in the delivery room?  Just my husband.
  • Update on mine: actually got to see baby boy today at a suprise AS. He is doing super well and have been wiggling all day ever since. He grabbed the umbilical cord while we were there - haha little weirdo. Our next appointment is 15 Feb and then we get to also check out the maternity ward etc.
