Cant believe my baby boy is here! Still not real to me at all, maybe when we leave the hospital?! I was aiming for a natural birth.. Well that didnt happen. Early friday morning (3:30am) i woke up with contractions. This is after my wednesday appt where my doc said id def be back next week, so i was anticipating him at least a week from now, plus my first pregnancy (i didnt get big at all either and always felt behind too) i anticipated going late. Being a first timer i started timing the contractions with the app 'full term' which i recommend! And they were a minute long and 4.5 mins apart so i called my doc, who told me to head to the hospital. We got there at 7am and i was kinda thinking maybe it was a false alarm. Well it wasnt. They had me walk the halls a bit to help dialate some more and then set me up in labor and delivery. I was having tremendous pain on my tailbone so i opted for the epidural, which didnt work. As i was progressing they had to re-do the epidural which did work, but did have to go thru that twice. Around 10pm they had me start pushing. I was so exhausted. Around 12:30am i opted for c section. No sleep for basically two days straight, plus no food all day i was delirious. I literally FELL ASLEEP on the operating table before they even started and didnt wake up til i heard my sweet babies first cries! Totally worth it! Turned out his head would of never fit through my pelvis so it was a good call even though it was the last thing i wanted my whole pregnancy. Turned out that for me- not having a formal birth plan was the way to go because it didnt leave me to disappointed and it easily can not go as planned. Welcome Leo, 7lbs 15oz and 20.5".
