TTC after 35

Ovulation day BD

I use FF, OPKs and CM to track O. How important is it to actually BD on the day of O. We BD 4 days before O, and then the 2 days before O. I'm pretty sure yesterday was O but my hubby had a work event until very late and I was asleep when he got home. Is the day after O still a good time to try? I read conflicting information.

Re: Ovulation day BD

  • Due to how long the sperm can survive, I think it is typically good timing to being able to anywhere from 4 days before O until the day after O.  Sounds like you got a few good tries in this cycle!

  • Thanks! One more question. Usually the day after O, I only get one line again on the OPk. I use wondflo. Today I got 2 lines. The bottom line was dark but not as dark as the top line. Positive or negative?
  • For it to be positive with the OPK the test line needs to be as dark or darker than the control line.
  • I saw a study showing that having more sex can improve fertility, even if outside the fertile window, possibly because it improves the lining (your body becomes more receptive). So even if it's a little late, it doesn't hurt.
