I am seriously considering buying maternity leggings. And I am the conductor of the "leggings are NOT pants" train. But I don't know what to wear with them. They just look so comfy. Must...Resist...Temptations...
I went off the deep end on my fiancé last night for not having dinner ready before I had to leave to go paint. (Toddler level of tantrum, complete with slamming things around and screaming at the top of my lungs) I guess I'm going to go back to hormonal bitch stage in third tri???
Thankfully he was forgiving about it when I did eventually calm down enough to apologize. "Sorry I got so emotional and went off the deep end. I know it didn't happen on purpose, and I should have been more patient about it. You didn't purposely go out of your way to make sure I was hungry for the next four hours."
As I am starting to regain my mobility I am truly enjoying seeing DH go out of his usual lazy ways to make my life easier. I woke up and found that he had done all the dishes that were piled up in the sink without me asking him to do it and he even helped me shower. Am I a bad person for wanting to stay like this a few more days?
I had my first preggo hormonal meltdown last night. I already had a crap day at work and then DD was a terror once I got home which further aggravated me, plus I've been feeling super overwhelmed with everything that needs to get done but no time to do it. DH knew I was upset but didn't really try to comfort me which further threw me down the depression cycle last night. He actually patted my head last night before bed. Is is horrible that I wanted a hug or snuggles last night (of course this was not overtly communicated but should have been)? I laid in bed and cried myself to sleep last night. Here's hoping today brings better things.
@briterfly84 DO IT. Maternity leggings FTW. I just wear long shirts/sweaters with them.
@elasticheart13 You are so not a bad person for wanting to get taken care of for a few more days. You've been through hell and back, time to enjoy some TLC from your man! Hope you are feeling better!
My FFFC is that I've been looking for ways to escape my in-laws for periods of time while they're here this weekend. This Zika virus thing is going to mean me working/being on call all weekend probably, and I'm kind of OK with it because it gives me an excuse to get away from everyone for a bit!
@spatter1 I'm starting to feel much better, thank you I sneezed last night and it was so amazing to not be in agonizing pain when it happened. I even managed to sleep on my side instead of my back for the first time; slept around 15 hours I am definitely enjoying all the care I'm getting
I actually got up in time to make myself breakfast this morning, instead of grabbing something cheap at the gas station (ok, so it was a smoothie and I had already assembled all of the ingredients a few weeks ago and frozen them, but whatever). Getting out of my car at work, I promptly spilled about half of it down my leg and in my car. I'm going to take this as a sign from the universe to not try too hard at anything today...
Random question because I assume this will be today's most read post (of course I'm not having a boy, so I don't know what's going on with the circumcision thread!). How do we communicate with the moderators? For example, to start a birth stories pinned post?? TBH I'm surprised we haven't had anyone deliver yet (thank goodness), but no doubt we'll need it before too long. Also, is there any way they might unpin some if the many pinned posts that have been there for months??
I've been a little nervous this week as I'm approaching my 28th week of gestation. This time last pregnancy, my feet were supper swollen and I had a real bad headache for days. I delivered DS1 at 28w1. When I went to the doctors a few weeks ago, my BP was a little high and they right away put me on BP meds and sent me to do some tests to rule out Preeclampsia. Everything came back normal (thank God) so I've been watching myself and resting as much as I can because the week that happened, I was out and about at the mall for many hours, went to Universal Studios with my family for the day, and didn't take my usual naps.
Since I've gone back to my routine, BP seems to be fine, except for yesterday where I ate random salty items and paid for it when my BP got really high. I think that was the reminder I needed to get it together if you want to continue being pregnant for another 10 weeks minimum.
All this to say, I'm looking forward to passing this milestone of 28 weeks and still growing my baby because it's been on my mind since I got pregnant. Praying to make it another 10 weeks minimum without any complications. We are prayerful that God will see us through this one and make it happen.

I don't know the answer to your question but I was thinking about this yesterday as I was lurking on previous BMB boards. Feb16 already has a baby.
Sometimes I feel guilty being pregnant while DD1 is at the stage she is at right now. She turned 2 right before Christmas so she is on learning overload in the best possible way and I LOVE it...but sometimes I am so tired, or cranky, or uncomfortable I just feel like I can't enjoy it as much as I could if I wasn't pregnant. She is also still ALL about mommy and daddy, so she wants to be in our laps, climbing all over us, being held, reveling in every ounce of attention, and I feel like I'm denying her some of that because I just can't handle it. Like, she'll climb up in my lap to rock and read a book, lay back against my stomach, and I have to ask her to sit up or away from my stomach because my lungs are already crushed and it makes it difficult to breathe. I often have to tell her in her jungle gym adventure all over me that she has to be careful because she's hurting mommy, and she'll point to my stomach and go "baby? baby??" Don't get me wrong, this is pretty much the exact age gap we planned, I just hate that I'm missing some stuff with her right now. I'm looking forward to being able to lay flat on the floor with both the girls in a few months...

Stop resisting. All I wear on weekends is leggings. It helps that it is cold here, so I can wear long tops/sweaters. But seriously, give in. You will thank yourself.
Roombas are around $300, correct? Because I totally want to get one to go around the house daily so I don't have to pull out my stand up manual vacuum minimum once (sometimes 2-3x) a day. With DD playing on the floor, a Labrador retriever, and crazy Florida weather that makes our backyard pretty blech many days, there is just too much fur/dirt tracked in for me to handle NOT vacuuming daily.
But also...DHs cousin had a Roomba and their dog pooped on the floor...they didn't realize it...the Roomba was running...guess what happened with the poo...

Old roombas are that cheap, newer models are pricier. I have one and recommend without hesitation. It takes a lot longer than you would take to clean a floor, but hey, you can be doing something else instead! The new roombas are brushless, so I would think they are even nicer cause removing hair etc from the brushes absolutely sucks.
My sister put a $600 Vacuum cleaner on her wedding registry at target.com ...
If it's a Roomba, totally justifiable IMO.
It is not a Roomba...she already has a Roomba. lol It's a Dyson but still...gimme a break. She only even has carpet on one level of her house.
QBF
I don't have carpet anywhere and I have a Roomba and a central vaccum system. So they can still clean wood and tile floors. But agree that 600 bucks on a regular push vaccum is way more than conventional wisdom would allow us to pay...

omg no!
I want a roomba so bad. Maybe if someone buys her the $600 dyson, she'll pass it down to me. Who am I kidding though, she never vacuums..that's what kills me the most.
My dogs would probably freak out on the roomba and break it anyway though.

We have a Roomba. While I enjoy the novelty of it, it isn't the end all, be all some people think it is. If you have lots of dog hair and dirt, it may not be your best bet.

I want a scooba too.

My cats and dogs don't care about the Roomba at all.
I also want a scooba badly, but I am waiting to see if their new model will clean a larger area at once. The current model only cleans a certain square footage at a time before needing to recharge. While this works for cleaning a single room like a bedroom or kitchen, I have an open-concept home where rooms fuse into the other so the flooring area ends up being large.
@sarahufl Honestly many people would probably say I don't need to vacuum every day, it just makes me a little crazy, so for the daily stuff it would probably make me feel just fine.
DD1's pre-school just called and said "she's not herself" and complaining that her belly hurts. Soooo I'm at work and said, ok well call me back if I NEED to go get her... DH is making feel a tiny bit guilty buuut if she's not puking or poop-sploding and has no fever - um, ok. PLUS they are working on the house so it's not like she's going to get in a solid nap at home.

Yeah, @imrachellea- it is nice because you can set it and just let it do it's thing. But we tried to do that after taking down our Christmas tree and it was just no match for the amount of pine needles in my house. It has a very small receptacle, so it needs to be emptied a lot.
We don't have pets but live in an old house that gets super dusty, which is why we bought it. I would say it does a decent job of managing that. I think if you set it in the evenings for a quick lap around the house, you would be happy. My H just loves random gadgety things, so he was all over it.
We had the Mint (similar to a Roomba), I didn't think it was THAT awesome. Our Dyson Animal; however, freaking love it! We got it with wedding $ (a friend of mine works for Kohl's corporate and they had been doing a ton of Dyson promotions around that time and she got us a great discount on top of our registry discount ... we paid $100 OOP).
At our old house we only had hardwoods, but still used our Dyson ALL.THE.TIME. So worth it.
My FFFC: DS and I made cookies last night, after frosting them, I still had a half a container of frosting. I put it in the fridge to keep so I could eat it by the spoonful when I am craving something sweet.
My confession is that as much as I dislike the "weight gain" threads, I am currently feeling like a goddamn whale. My weight gain is acceptable and has (thankfully!) finally slowed back down, but good god my abdomen feels like it has exploded in just the last few days and my stomach is all squished and out of room It doesn't help either that I've found a new stretch mark almost every day this week.
We got a roomba right around Christmas for $200 from Kohls (base model, on sale plus coupon plus Kohls cash) and it is AWESOME! It has less to do now that the super hairy dog is gone, but even with him there it kept up pretty well with all the hair and dirt that comes with two large dogs and three boys. I just wish it would vacuum my stairs, because they look pretty shabby in comparison now.
I found my first stretch marks last night and quietly cried myself to sleep, because I knew DH would feel awful and be all nice to try to make me feel better. So today, I'm getting Starbucks and a frostee after he goes to work, then I'm making brownies. In the past, my body confidence has come from what my body could do (I lifted weights and ran 6 days a week) rather than what I looked like, but being pregnant seems to have made me vain and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
@AmadorRosethe silly thing is, it's not like I don't already have plenty of stretchmarks on my hips, thighs & boobs. But for some reason I'm taking this relatively hard. I think it's because I'm feeling so uncomfortable in general. And my face/chin feel like they've blown up too. DH knows I'm feeling crappy and has been really sweet about it.
@AEG84 I feel ridiculous for letting it get to me like it is, but since I've never gone through a growth spurt I've never had a stretch mark before. My face is also pregnant, and I'm still deciding on the best name for my new chin.
My birthday is coming up next month and I haven't made any plans. DH and I have birthdays only 5 days apart, so we just combine our celebrations into one on a weekend. He's started making plans for his birthday and only his birthday... I want to yell and scream at him about how unfair that is, especially since mine is a milestone birthday (25). I've even told him that I'm going to be an adult and not call in sick or use vacation time on my birthday because of the baby coming in April! I just want to cry and throw a tantrum. Maybe I'll just buy myself something really nice to make up for it and tell DH to suck it up and that's what he gets for not thinking about my birthday.
Our corporate CEO and chairman are here visiting and everyone is supposed to stay busy. Besides an expense report I haven't done anything work related all morning.
Outie belly buttons weird me out. And I live in constant fear while pregnant that LO will have one. I can't even handle the idea of mine popping out. But my cavernous belly button also makes me uncomfortable. Belly Buttons....just ew!

Does everyone's bb pop? My belly button has always been really deep but it's definitely shallowed some...i wonder if mine will pop. Belly buttons are weird, and gross.
@yodiggity Mine did not pop out with DD1, I credit that to having a little extra "fluff" around the middle (sometimes by a "little" I mean a bit more than a "little"...). So given that I start this pregnancy 15lbs heavier than I did with DD1 I imagine it will also not pop.

@kalanieileen that sounds like a very good idea.
