Pain meds during stims??

I'm on day 2 and the headache is getting the better of me. Can I take anything?
I'm take 225 of Gonal and 150 of menopur.
Any advice would be very appreciated!
Hope you are all having a good night!

Re: Pain meds during stims??

  • I would definitely say ask your dr, but I thought that tylenol was safe to take as it is safe to take during pregnancy.

  • I was told no ibuprofen with fertility meds.  Aspirin is ok but you could consult your dr.

  • @alexiskirilukYeah Tylenol only! I sometimes have a cup of green tea or dark chocolate, the caffeine helps a lot. Peppermint oil and a hot towel on my head/neck help sometimes too. I feel your pain about the headaches. Mine are so bad , I had to quit my job. They get really bad, but experimentation with a bunch of home remedies helped. Hope some of my suggestions help!

  • @alexiskiriluk I would refrain from taking any pain meds if possible.  I had lap surgery and found out I had stage 2 endo, which explained a lot of my daily pain.  My OB prescribed pain meds that helped me tremendously.  I stopped taking everything when I started stims because it can cause toxicity to the eggs.  Better to be safe and make sure the follies get the best chance possible.  I stayed off my prescription Ibuprofen also.

  • Thanks ladies!!! I have not taken anything and the headache comes and go I can handle it.
  • @alexiskiriluk I'm on the same meds.... I haven't had the same.... I just posted this same thing on another tread so just pasting it here for you as welll (I know sometimes messages get lost in all the replies)....

2 things I changed: Cut way down on caffeine (I limit myself to 1 cup of coffee a day) - and I’ve tried to stay over hydrated (I mix ice, Gatorade, and Coconut water and drink as much of that and water that I can)….. Staying hydrated was the most consistent advice I’ve heard….

  • I second drinking a lot of water.  If you want to take Tylenol, it's no issue.  My clinic said that headaches can be expected, especially if it's a normal symptom for you as part of PMS.
