Irish Twins?

Okay, so my husband and I don't use birth control. I was nursing, but my baby was hospitalized with a food allergy, so we switched him go hypoallergenic formula (he is doing much better)!! That means my odds of getting pregnant again are pretty high. Anyone here have Irish twins? (Two babies under age of 1) I need some encouragement! We want a big family, and I want my children close in age, so I'm sure I am capable of handling it if I get pregnant again, but would love to hear from any mommies of Irish twins:)

Re: Irish Twins?

  • Mine are 14 months apart. A lot of work now and feeling guilt at times because you can't give either child a 100% all the time but so excited when they can play with each other. Don't be afraid to ask for help and try to keep the older ones schedule as same as possible.

  • My babies are 12 months and 3 weeks apart. It's a lot of work but I love it! I can't wait until they start playing together.
  • My mother had the four of us in five years and four days. I've hated it all my life. Just perspective from the other side. My sister and I had classes together and wanted to date the same guys. Nothing worse for a young girls self esteem than being the more plan sister in a pair of Irish twins.
  • My girls are 12&11 now but they are 11 months apart! It wasn't always easy but I loved it! They had each other to keep them occupied, learned off of each other(they potty trained at the same time) and even wore the same size clothes which made it easier! I was nervous about them sharing friends, I wanted them to have some individuality. They do have some mutual friends now but for the most part are complete opposites! My oldest is a tom boy softball player and my younger one is all girl cheerleader! They love to hate each other! Lol
