Baby Clamping Down on Breast when Finished Nursing

My daughter is 17 weeks today, and is EBF (as in won't even take a bottle). During the last week she has started to "bite" down on my breast when she's done with her feed (she'll unlatch after). I've always heard to take your breast away when your baby bites, so they make the connection that it's not ok to do so. However, she's already doing that herself, she'll bite, then stop eating, and gives me this huge grin afterwards! I say "ouch" so that hopefully she'll start to understand that her action hurts mommy.

Anyone in a similar situation and/or have any advise? Thank in advance.

This is my DS! It's so painful! If he eats but isn't very hungry he will clamp down and turn his head side to side. Then pull his head back (nipple still in mouth) and then let go and smile at me. I have no solutions but I know what you're going through. It seriously sucks ha. Every time he would do it I would say ouch you hurt mommy and he would just look up at me and smile and start talking to me. Good thing he is so dang cute. I started crying last night he did it so many times. He was so over tired and not eating but fussy. I was at my wits end.

Yes to both pp! And he's been moving and pinching me with his fingers. I try to burp him in between thinking its gas but I think he's just fussing? Hopefully this passes

Lurker from October but with my Daughter I learned that any time I made any noise when she'd bite she'd do it again because of the reaction she got. In addition to taking it away I'd recommend giving baby absolutely no reaction when they bite. I know it hurts a lot but the more you bite your lip and stay quiet the more likely you are to have them stop.

DS1 would bite me when he was teething and man did it hurt!  It always happened at the end of a feeding so I would watch carefully then unlatch him before he could bite.  
This LO does the nipple pull too!  He's always looking around trying to see what's going on with my nip still in his mouth.  So easily distracted now that's he's getting a bit older.

Baby girl would do this, so I started paying attention to when she would start losing interest and take my nipple out of her mouth before she could bite. I also kept a chew toy close so if she did bite, I would put that in her mouth instead and tell her to bite that. Like pp said, don't react because they'll do it more. After doing these things for a few days, she's seemed to have stopped biting me
