So I know this certainly is not necessary, but is it really weird for me to send a thank you gift basket to my OB? My labor was rough and she was a blessing. I'm going to write her a great review, but I want to do more.
I brought mine a batch of home made cookies at my 6week check up. I felt that if I would have had any of the other doctors in the practice I would have ended up with a c-section but she was awesome and encouraging and deserved those cookies.
I'm usually not in favor of the gift giving thing because people make it an obligation and don't do it because they just want to. But I don't think this is weird depending on your relationship with your OB. I wouldn't get too crazy, maybe something small with a sweet card.
I don't think it's weird or inappropriate. Most like s/he will share it with the office. I do tend to prefer sending things to the entire team, because it really is a team effort by the OB and the support staff!
