Need some vacation ideas

We're thinking of going on vacation this summer, maybe July or August, with our son in tow. He will be 2 then. Any suggestions on where to go that would be toddler friendly? Flying is not out of the question, but I don't want a really long flight for his first one. We are in Boston. We were thinking of Florida or South Carolina, but no idea where to go within the state. Somewhere with a beach. No Disney yet. I think he is too young. Any ideas???

Im a travel agent and I have to say if you are ok leaving the states.. Beaches turks and caicos is by far the best. I just went with my 8,5, and then 10 month old. Best vacation Ive ever been on.

Carolina Beach in North Carolina is really nice. Our family travels there often and its super kid friendly
