LO doesn't want to be set down

DS is 7wks now and for the past three days if we set him down, even for a second, he starts going crazy. He constantly wants to be held or in our laps. If we set him down he starts pouting, then crying, and then screaming bloody murder. We've tried just letting him go but after about 5-10mins of him still screaming we cave. Any advice?

Re: LO doesn't want to be set down

  • I just wear my LO. That way he gets his wish of not being put down but I also have two hands free.

  • I agree with baby wearing. It's a phase. It'll pass and he will move on to something new.
  • Mines same age and the exact same she's been extremely clingy lately
  • Mine started this at 5 weeks, it's hard to get stuff done but they are only this small for a little while.
  • Mine has been like this since he was 1 week old. Baby wearing is my go to also
  • My little guy has been like this for weeks and is almost 10 weeks now. At this point I've basically just gotten used to him always being attached to me during the day. Any time I need to get anything done I wear him. At first it kinda stressed me out because I felt like I couldn't get anything done, but now that I've learned how to get things done wearing him (because I will admit, that is harder than just doing things on my own) it's not too bad. I always remind myself that he's just young and needs his mommy. He won't always need me in this capacity, so I will totally soak in all the love and snuggles while I can. Before we know it they're going to be little miss and mister independents
