Sleeping... Or lack thereof...

Hey ladies! Just wanted to know how everyone is sleeping thus far and what you're using to get comfortable? I am napping great but, night sleep doesn't go well. I'm having trouble staying on my left side bc I'm normally a stomach sleeper. I've done the body pillow...it ends up on the floor. I'm trying an I shaped pillow between my legs to alleviate the lower back pain I've started having. What are you trying that works?

Re: Sleeping... Or lack thereof...

  • I use a v shaped pillow it helps a lot and I also sleep on my side with my left leg up my right leg straight it's how I get comftable but other than that there isn't a lot this is my 3rd pregnancy and I struggled to sleep through all mine

  • I bought the gigantic leachCo full body pillow It is amazing except it is so hard to get out of when I have to wake up 5-6 times a night to pee! I have never woken up quite so much ever, and it was super difficult to get comfortable at first.
  • I'm a stomach sleeper too! I had a Snoogle my first pregnancy and loved it, so I bought another one this time. They have them at Bed Bath and Beyond so you can use a 20% off :) I like it because I put my head in one hook of the pillow and the other between my legs and it locks me into place essentially. I'm a very rough sleeper and it's never ended up on the floor :) I also like it because I can sleep (in the beginning) at an angle with my back against the long part of the pillow and position myself between sleeping on my side and sleeping on my back.

  • Comfy enough, but so annoying getting up a usual 6x to pee. When it gets closer to morning (like when I got up at 4am to pee) it's harder for me to fall back asleep. I do have a pregnancy pillow that I used with DD1 and loved it, but not at a point to break it out yet.

  • I am struggling as well because I am typically a stomach sleeper. I need to look into getting a pillow... Any recommendations?

  • Are we not supposed to be sleeping on our stomachs? I'm a stomach sleeper and have been sleeping on my stomach comfortably!
  • at this point in your pregnancy it's totally fine to sleep on your stomach! don't stress yet. until the baby is bigger and your bump is really bumping there is no issue with sleeping on your stomach, side, or flat on your back.

get all the sleep you can, while you can!
  • I'm a stomach sleeper, and plan to sleep on my belly until I can't anymore. With my first pregnancy, I tried to sleep other ways and always woke up on my belly anyway.

That being said, my 14 month old wakes up 3-4 times a night so sleep is hard.
  • I like to sleep on my back but my dr said to try and get used to side sleeping sooner rather than later. I nap/sleep just fine but my dreams are sooooo crazy every single night! I can vividly remember each one too so it kinda feels like I'm not even getting any sleep because I'm off fighting zombies or being a cabaret singer on a cruise ship haha
  • I'm a stomach/back sleeper so I've been trying to sleep on my sides as much as possible, just to get used to it. My hubby got me a u-shaped body pillow for Christmas and the thing is awesome.
As a side note, you are allowed to sleep on your stomach for a while, as a PP mentioned. It'll be uncomfortable to do so well before it's frowned upon (I'm already starting to get a little uncomfortable when I do end up on my stomach, though it could be in my head).
