TTC after 35

Started metformin what can I get expect?

i had my implinon removed in June I have been monitoring my cm since then.  Just started temping this cycle and started met today at 500 mg (cd 10) .  I am hopeful that it will help.  Any experience with met

  • I've had years of experience with Metformin.  I take 1500mg of Metformin XR, so it's extended release.  It will give you lots of stomach upset (usually gas, bloating and urgent diarrhea).  Make sure you take it with food!  I choose to take mine at dinner time and it limits the amount of stomach upset for me.  It does cause a 'blow out' (sorry if TMI!) if you have something high in carbs or sugar, but not usually until the next morning - first thing.  The slower you increase your dose, the better and the easier the symptoms.  Good luck!

    I agree! I use it twofold as I am a diabetic as well.

  • I've been on 1500 MG for a few years and haven't experienced any really bad side effects. I do have the diarrhea from time to time, but I could never point it back to the metformin. I also started taking a B12 vitamin because metformin can lower B12 in your body.
