I know there's a limit, 200mg a day I think. I would just feel better not drinking high caffeine things like soda and coffee since I know caffeine is in other things like tea and chocolate. Google gives a lot of different answers.
The caffeine content in sweet tea varies depending on what kind of tea you have, what brand and etc. However, it doesn't appear to be too much. Also as PP's have said you don't have to give up caffeine entirely, just don't consume as much. My OB said under 200mg is safe, but I personally tend not to drink it and have cut out caffeine for the most part.
I pulled this from Dr Google as an example:
McDonalds Sweet Tea contains 3.12 mgs of caffeine per fluid ounce (10.57mg/100 ml).
Each brand of tea has different amounts so no one here is going to be able to tell your answer really.. I suggest that you go and compare the brands next time you go shopping.
You could have a large sweet tea (one) from McDonalds and not go over your limit for the day. I drink one of those if I want, but stay away from caffeine the rest of the day.
I would be so much more concerned, pregnant or not, about the 90000000000000 grams of sugar in a sweet tea than whatever trace caffeine they can squeeze in after melting in the sugar.
I'm terrible and still drink coffee. I've cut back to 1 cup every couple of days but I just can't do it atm. I don't drink tea or anything else containing caffeine so I feel like I can say f it for this one.
I'm fairly certain you can drink a couple of tea's a day before you reach the limit. I know it's 2 cups of coffee a day and tea has less caffeine so you should be right.
I don't recommend giving up caffeine if you intend to breastfeed and consume it after LO is born! My sister avoided it like the plague when pregnant and her LO could not tolerate it through breast milk after he was born. She couldn't drink it because it made her LO so fussy/uncomfortable. I consumed within reason while pregnant and my LO never reacted to after birth.
If you are really worried about it, you can switch to decaf. I make decaf sweet tea at home (Lipton has decaf tea bags). I am also a big coffee drinker and switched to decaf.

@SparkySunshine When I was BFing DD I never noticed any behavioral changes if I drank caffeine, but her stools were a lot messier, which was enough encouragement for me to avoid it!
I second making your own decaf with the Lipton decaf ice tea bags. I made a gallon tonight. I do it the old fashioned southern way with real sugar but you can certainly cut it down to taste. Don't use aspartame. I'd rather use real sugar.
I gave up caffeine pretty much completely (I am still having chocolate and hot chocolate so only pretty much lol). before getting pregnant EXCEPT for unsweetened iced tea when I was eating out. I gave that up after getting pregnant because I too easily lose track of how much I am drinking at a place where the refills are bottomless and free. The hardest thing has been finding places that do caffeine free AND diet anything. (I know some people are against diet sodas, but I am 180lbs down with more to go after this baby so I am choosing my battles here.) So I have been drinking water and an occasional regular ginger ale.
Decaf tea is pretty good, and Starbucks has a few good blends too. I have been sick so hot decaf tea is my friend!
@karabby you have up to 200-300 mg caffeine per day and the little one is safe! one cup of coffee has an average of about 95 mg of caffeine, so you can have a cup or two. In 8 oz of brewed tea there is anywhere from 15-70 mg of caffeine, so it depends on how strong the brew was. But you might also like some substitutes that taste pretty similar to sweet tea with no/less caffeine https://blog.mumberry.com/post/137096505605/can-i-really-have-coffee-while-im-pregnant
