 Fetal Pyelectasis- down syndrome risk?

We just had our 20 week anatomy U/S and were referred to a high risk maternal fetal medicine Dr because of Fetal Pyelectasis. Has anyone had experience with this?
Reading online (the worst thing to do) has us thinking it is a sign of downs.
Gender is most likely boy but legs were crossed so still waiting to see about that.
Any info helps for new (nervous) parents! Thank you!

  • We are in the same boat.  My lvl 2 u/s is in a few weeks, I figured if there was a serious problem they would've called me in sooner.  After talking with several people (friends, family, nurses, moms) we realized that there is not much to worry about.  We're team green so the fact that this is happening is kind of exciting for us, it may be a boy!

Also, 96% of cases resolve on their own before birth. Deep breaths
