gift for nurses?

I'm going in tomorrow night to get induced since I'm l past my due date. I'm getting everything together and looking at 100 different hospital bag list and I am occasionally seeing that it's a good idea to bring a box of chocolates or donuts for the nurses station as a thank you/butter them to gift. Is anyone doing this or has anyone done this?

There's a recent thread about this, but I'd like to add that a gift won't change your care and it's insulting to nurses, who take their jobs very seriously, to have that view. Get one out of gratitude, not because you think you'll get better care if you give them snacks.
