Can I just say I love you July ladies. I'm lurking from the tail end of June and we have enough rainbows and unicorns ladies on ours that it's just not even worth commenting on threads like this...I'll definitely be lurking this board a WHOLE lot more.
I just got all caught up by lurking the post on the June board, and I am crying from laughing so hard. Can I just say how much I LOVE our July BMB? Seriously. You ladies kick ass!
Maybe this is a confession, but I am sick of every other person pulling the "bullying" card every time someone doesn't agree with them on a topic or says something the teensiest bit mean. Bullying back in my day, was when someone slugged you, took your milk money, shoved you in a locker, and then spread false rumors about you throughout school....and it lasted for weeks/months/years. It wasn't saying "If you are worried about it hurting your baby, why would you do it?" and posting some GIF's. When the thread was closed and we all got a little talking to about "bullying". There is so much "bullying isn't being taken seriously!" floating around in the world, and a majority of the time, it is just someone saying what is on their mind or being a little snarky.....its far from actually bullying someone. Maybe it would be taken a little more seriously, if it wasn't a few "WTF?" and GIF's, and then being accused of being a bully.
Welcome to 2016, where if you have a strong opinion about something, and you voice that strong opinion, you and instantly labeled a "bully"......
I do think there is a lot of unaddressed bullying going on in schools (and also adult situations, unfortunately). But I completely agree that most of the stuff people call bullying here on TB isn't even close. Some people think if you don't agree or question them that it's bullying. Um, no - we just aren't going to hold your hand and shoot rainbows out our asses at you and pretend you're the speshul sneauxflake you think you are. Get the eff over it.
I think there is a difference between someone being a bully and someone being snarky. I think there are plenty of comments on this board that are snarky, but not in a bullying way. I personally have no problem with a little snark. I love having a little snark in my life, it makes the board a little more fun to read. If you don't like snark, I would suggest this just isn't the right board for you!
