Baby scale?

My lo isn't gaining well and the pediatrician and I are concerned. I don't want to pump and feed because I don't respond well to the pump. I'd much rather do weighed feedings. I'm considering buying a scale for home. It would have to be accurate to 1/10 oz. I've seen a few but was wondering if anyone here bought a scale or rented from the hospital. What scale do you have and is it accurate enough?

Re: Baby scale?

  • We already had a postal scale, so I began using that to do weighted feelings. It is accurate to .2 ounces... So not quite as accurate as you would like, but I am comfortable with it. I have a bin with blankets in it that I keep on top of the scale. The only thing that can be difficult is if he is moving too much, but we have the same problem on the doctor's scale. You can get postal scales (that weigh up to 35lbs) for around $30.

We did weighted feedings at least 4 times a day for 6 weeks. It is hard to have a little one that isn't gaining well.
