WTF husband. My husband had jury duty yesterday. He went and didn't tell anyone that his wife is dilated and having contractions and could have a baby any day now. He was selected to serve on a jury. I am not happy. Hopefully the trial ends this week as promised and baby stays inside for a while longer. Even my doctor was all "WTF husband?" at my appointment yesterday afternoon and wrote him a note to give to the court so we can stay in contact.
Yeah my husband has jury duty on the 19th (his birthday and two weeks before my due date). He asked for an extension but we haven't heard back yet. If he has to go he plans on telling them as soon as he gets there because he's worried he won't be able to answer his phone. That would suck!
Hopefully the court grants your H some accommodations.
A day late but i am having a serious WTF moment.. So my SIL and BIL got me what I thought was a gift certificate at massage envy for a 1 hour prenatal massage for Christmas. I went to make the appointment today… and it turns out this certificate wasn't in their system anymore because she had won it a while back on the radio and just hadn't used it. At first I thought I was pissed off at Massage Envy because I thought they just weren't honoring their certificate, but now I'm pissed at my SIL for literally giving me something she got free and just hadn't had time to use. There's no expiration date so I'm trying to get the radio station and massage place to work together to figure it out and get my free massage.. but now I'm just sitting here stewing about the whole situation. This isn't the first time they've given us old radio station winnings either. I swear, i'm just gonna get them something stupid like a toothbrush next time gift giving comes around.
Yeah, it's tacky. I think if it I were her I would just tell you straight up "I won this but thought you might enjoy it since you're pregnant and uncomfortable." I'm not against regifting, but I can see why you're annoyed.

Don't get me wrong. I know exactly where you're coming from. My ex-SIL used to do stuff like that all the time. I'd wrack my brain thinking of an amazing gift for her while she'd grab just anything off the shelf at Marshall's for me. I know it's frustrating when that happens.
You are not going to like what I have to say lol. I always keep track of what people get me so I can give them equal. I can't stand when people are cheap (exceptions apply --like if you are a 20 yo college student or 80 on social security or like spent time MAKING a thoughtful gift). But, I always get people nice gifts and spend time picking something I know they'll like. If they come back to me with a cheapo gift they put no effort into, I will note it and give them something of similar value the following year. I also ALWAYS consult my wedding gift list to see how much someone gave me befofe attending their wedding. I got married at 27 so I do tend to add a little to the checks I give my friends getting married now that we are in our 30's but if someone gave me a friggen teapot, I sure as hell won't be writing them a 300 dollar check for their wedding like I would for others.
Um, you're definitely right about that part. None of this paints you in a very good light. Yikes! I can't imagine consulting a years old wedding list. How petty. I couldn't wouldn't do that to any of my "friends."

Please tell me you're kidding. Peppermint is not a good idea for reflux. It's one of the worst things you can have. I think you're confusing it for relieving stomach indigestion.
OP I'm in the same boat. Everything causes heartburn. Try to stick to smaller meals and make sure not to lay down too soon after eating. It sucks, but it will be over soon enough. Best of luck to you!

I think sentimental gifts are great. I mentioned that in my post as an exception. I just think it's really rude when I go out of my way to pick out something I know someone will really like and that's really nice and not get the same consideration in return. I love giving. Picking out people's Christmas gifts and wrapping them beautifully is one of my favorite things to do. I love watching them open them and get excited. But if someone doesn't show me the same thought, I will note it. Why should I go out of my way and spend my hard earned money on someone who just takes and doesn't give me the same thought back?
Because gift giving shouldn't be a monetary exchange. If you want it to be tit-for-tat, just trade money. Makes sense, right? No, it doesn't. You should give because you care about the person you're giving to. If you don't care, don't give them a gift.
I have to say as far as tracking what other people have given you in order to re-gift "appropriately", we have had times with our family or with our friends where someone was not in a great financial place and gifts that were exchanged weren't equal. Nobody kept track or held it against each other because that's not the spirit of giving the gift. We've also had times where one person may have purchased a gift and another didn't. Nobody wrote it down or took notice at all. It just sounds very sad that someone might base their gift off of some old record of what they've been given before. Sorry grandma, you only put $5 in my birthday card so you're getting a pack of gum for your birthday. It's just silly.

To my MIL who has told me like 600x that people who are three months pregnant are "WAY" bigger than me.... Yeah okay whatever you sayyyyyy. I get it... I'm small and petite and I'm trying my best to be happy with the way I am. Newsflash - The baby is measuring on track (which I've said tons of times to her)... Belly size doesn't always predict baby size. My mom looked exactly like me when she was pregnant. Gosh, it makes me just want to stuff my shirt where my belly is so I don't have to hear it anymore when I'm around her.
Why do people think that they need to tell me what size I am.. Geez Louise! I just want to be like, "oh thank you so much for telling me! I would be lost without your input - just blindly walking around wondering the size of my belly!"
WTF to waking up at 3am with a migraine that apparently was triggered by the cold I've developed over night. I hate taking the day off of work this close to leave but really couldn't see making it through the day on little sleep and feeling this way.
Anyone else feel like they've caught every cold that has come through the office? It makes me glad I got my flu shot in early October!
WTF to my hormones. I cried last night because I realized it was Tuesday not Wednesday. It's because I can't wait until Thursday because my kids only have a 4 day school week and my mom said she would take them for the night.
WTF to going in for my 36 week appt yesterday and them doing multiple tests for UTIs and other infections and they all came back negative. Flash forward to 2am this morning and doctor tells me to go into L&D because I've been having consistent cramping since 7pm(like every 6 min) and a lot of leakage. Two hours of monitoring and tests later Turns out I do have the start of an infection down there and I'm dehydrated(I drink 80-120oz of plain water a day not including fruit and other fluids). What changed is 12 hours?? So I've been sleeping and drinking water all day...Plus I have a cold
Wtf to having to go to the ER and spend hours there because I was severely dehydrated. If I wasn't pregnant I would have stayed home and slept it off. But I couldn't hold down anything for 30 hours. And I couldn't go see an OB on the LnD floor because of how sick I am I had to stay in the ER. And now I have to miss a week of work. So WTF to people who walk around and spread their germs when they should stay their asses home!! Edit to add/change pic.

Totally agree! I keep getting 'colds' that last a few hours (obv not colds!) but intense sneezing and congestion. Highly irritating! Almost like allergies it it's winter!
Wtf to my co worker who I swear has been lazier than me lately. When she knows I'm scheduled to come in the next day, she just writes off a lot of our clients as carry overs (we're not really supposed to do that, but she does it all the time) to create less work for her and more work for me when I come in the next day. I mean, wouldn't you think she'd get that at 8 months pregnant I probably don't want to do more work than I have to?! Boggles the mind.. Thank god tomorrow's my last shift till maternity leave!

I've had this for the past week and it's just now letting us. My nose is completely blocked and the postnasal drip makes my throat burn. Plus yesterday I had a sneezing fit and blood kept coming out. So lovely
