TW Weekend Edition

...because sometimes there are just too many TWs to wait for the Tuesday edition.

Let's hear it!

For me, I've got a couple. My SD has been a royal pain in my rear. I know it's because she's desperate for attention and she doesn't get it at her mom's, but no means no. And her pre-teen hormonal crap can stop any time now.
And my sciatica... again. I haven't left my house since Wednesday. I haven't showered since Friday. I honestly can barely walk and even when I do I'm cringing and fighting back tears. Today, I don't even trust myself stand long enough in the shower to wash myself. If I sit on the floor, I won't be able to get back up. I'm stinky :(

Re: TW Weekend Edition

  • This cold I caught from one of my kiddos. I can't even function today. Miserable.

  • @juju0592 you're still sick?! You poor thing, and this late in the pregnancy? Ugh, I feel for ya! Feel better soon!
  • This headache I've had since yesterday is a TW.  It comes and goes in waves, but is never gone completely.  I have a doctor appt Monday, so I'll get things checked out then.

This fatigue is a TW.  Seriously, what is this?  First tri all over again?  I slept 10+ hours of solid sleep last night (some on my belly even!) and I feel like I need a 3hour nap.

And heartburn is always a TW.

  • Dog hair is a TW. Swept and mopped my entire house a couple of days ago and DH decided to brush the dogs today. I won't say he's a TW because I'm actually very grateful that he took care of that, but now there's dog hair all over my entire house again. Thanking God that our new place has no carpeting, at least, for it to all get stuck in
  • @BarrettJ89 oh if you only knew. Turns out my five year old doesn't have chicken pox (thank god) but does have a cold and is newly allergic to penicillins. And because she catches everything and brings it home, I catch it. Started off as a sore throat and turned into a classic cold as of yesterday. But thankfully the hubby (who is anti-med anything) got tired of me complaining and is at the store buying sudafed. I can't wait to pop this kiddo out so I can take the meds that I want.
  •  I need to add my dog to the TW list again.  He's obsessed over one of the toddler's toys.  It's a stupid plastic chicken.  It makes no noise at all, but if I hold it up to show the toddler and say "chicken," the dog goes ape-shit.  If I make "bak bak bak" chicken noises, it doubles the amount of ape-shittiness.  He's already run the toddler and I over a few times.

  • My body is a TW. I seem to have caught this horrendous cold. I'm congested, insatiably thirsty and have this awful dry cough. I'm exhausted because i wake up every hour and half the last 3 nights completly parched. I'm 38 weeks pregnant and i feel like a hippopotamus. I'm strongly considering calling off work tomorrow. I'm not sure toughing it out at this stage in pregnancy is such a grand idea.
  • @GAgirlinSDakota I'm with you about the damn dog. My male pit is just clingy and has ungodly bad anxiety. Every sound he thinks he hears, he goes ape shit. My female has taken up this constant need to be touching me. She lays under my feet or puts her head on the edge of the couch or my legs, stares at me, and whines or "talks." I'm over it. It's not cute.
  • Today's TW goes to my baby's rancid farts..
Not the baby- he's cute and cuddly..
But the smells coming from his booty have GOT to go. It's a constant rotten egg smell coming from his booty..

    Bless him...
  • My dog. We are moving back to our home state right after baby is born, so we left his stuff with my parents from our baby shower. We also left our dog with them, because it would be too much when we moved back, to move our stuff, a newborn and a dog; across the country.
My mom told me today that our dog decided it was a great idea to chew up all of the diapers we got from the baby shower. Every single pack, was ruined. I'm so livid.

Another TW, is my abdomen. every single movement the baby makes, is pure pain. His head is so low into my pelvis right now that it's nothing but pain. Doesn't help that he's extremely active right now. It hurts so bad. My body can put me in this much pain because he's still in there, but it can't get its act together and go into labor on its own. I have to be induced.

My inlaws. They told my husband yesterday they were not coming to the hospital to see us. They are going to wait until a week later to see us at home. They are both retired. I'm having a scheduled csection. It's not like they don't know exactly when their grand child (my husbands first child) will be born. They have GPS to help them find the hospital. We took them there to show them where to go. And now they can't even be bothered to come. We are 2 hours away, not cross country. My husband is so upset. I seriously want to tell them how crappy it is but it's not my place. We were going to wait to send a photo to anyone until after his parents met our son. That has all changed now. His best friend is driving 6 hours to be there for the birth. Yeah. Can't even comprehend this.
  • I was having a great weekend, then my DS woke up throwing up at 5 this morning. We had plans to see our family friends this morning for breakfast. Hoping for no more puke and just cuddles, and that I don't catch it!

  • My delivering hospital is a TW. I went in on Thursday because my high-risk doctor called and wanted me to be induced. I have an autoimmune disease and I had to start prednisone the week before to manage a flare. The prednisone has now given me gestational diabetes (at 38 weeks!) and so my high risk doctor decided it would be safer to deliver the baby than to try and manage the diabetes (knowing that it can take a while to get under control) since I was only going to be pregnant for another week anyways.
The hospital refused to do the induction, but only after we had been there five hours and then I had to be admitted overnight to get started on insulin. But since the dose of prednisone I am on is tapering down, they can't get the insulin levels right and I've had multiple episodes where my blood sugar has been dropping dangerously low. So now I am on FMLA and stuck at home.
And now the doctors are telling me that there are all these new risks because he wasn't delivered! (He was already 8.5 lbs and doing excellent practice breathing so he would have been safe to be born at 38 weeks.)
Oh and if they had delivered me on Thursday, I would have saved a ton of money because he would have been here before my insurance switched over for 2016.

  • @Emott13 I feel you! We have all hard wood floors, which I'm thankful for. We have 2 large dogs and the thought of carpet grosses me out because I know how much ours shed. I am super obsessive about keeping our floors clean because you can feel and see all the grit on them, especially when the sun is shining on them!
  • My closet/me, my husband and I finally put together our closet organizer and I must have missed measured something because it fits in the closet, after about 8 hours of building, but we have to buy new doors. My guess is I won't have closet doors until the baby is born and out of the bassinet.

  • Nesting is a TW.  I want to clean all the things, but I'm out of laundry detergent and spray cleaners.  I want to wash the dog and his bedding, but I can't until Tuesday b/c I can't do it solo and no detergent.  I need to rearrange things a bit, but I can't move the furniture and SO works until midnight.  I want to clean my car and haul crap to the thrift store.  Can't until Tuesday.  I DID scrub the bathroom top to bottom though.

And I've only slept 1.5 hours since I woke up Saturday morning.  There is no caffeine in this house.

  • My family are all TWs.
They have decided to bash me- and drop hints that they don't agree with the fact I'm formula feeding my baby....

I wanted to breast feed, but 1) baby wouldn't latch 2) I have flat nipples 3) my baby was so hungry in the hospital I was t making enough milk I had no choice but to formula feed....

Thanks for making me feel worse about it...
Don't think I don't see your disapproving looks either....

Jerks... none of their damn business... I want to BF as well, but if baby isn't getting what baby needs I will definitely formula feed. Would they rather you not feed baby at all? Because that's what they're "saying". People are just stupid :frowning: Just cannot stand that kind of thing.

  • The TW is my downstairs neighbor because he is SO FREAKING LOUD it is insane.  I've lived in apartments forever.  I've had loud neighbors, quiet neighbors, medium neighbors - I have never encountered anything of this level.  It's like he has some sort of disorder where he has to make noise at all times.  He works out in our gym in a way that makes no one else want to work out.  While everyone else wears headphones, he brings a freaking sound system and speakers and blasts music at an insane volume.  Also, while he works out he claps and whistles this high pitched, annoying whistle.  And that's in the gym, which is right next to my parking spot, so I can't avoid, and he works out like 4-6 hours a day, so I generally have to deal with his gym noise 2-3 times a day, coming and going.

When he's home, he yells loudly all the time.  Not out of anger!  Out of just... I have no idea.  You know how soccer announcers yell GOOOOOAAAALLL when someone scores?  He yells like that FOR NO REASON.  All of the time.  And when he watches sports he yells and claps to a degree that is maddening.  And he doesn't work, so he is home all of the time.  I feel like I'm going to go insane due to his noise while on maternity leave.

It has gotten to the point that I cannot wait until the baby is born and is crying all hours of the night because it will be some kind of revenge.

@carlyhammond if your having a hard time breastfeeding don't worry about it. I had a very hard time and come from a family where all my aunts, mom, SIL and sister BF. They made it seem like I was a failure because my baby wasn't gaining weight. But just so you know, in case no one told you, there are nipple shields. They are supposed to help with problems like yours. Here's a link, I hope they help if you want to give them a try. https://www.target.com/p/medela-24mm-contact-nipple-shield/-/A-10953414?ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=10953414&ref=tgt_adv_XS000000&AFID=google_pla_df&CPNG=PLA_Baby+Shopping&adgroup=SC_Baby&LID=700000001170770pgs&network=g&device=t&location=1022882&gclid=CK23nM2Lj8oCFYGCaQodtA4DCg&gclsrc=aw.ds No pressure here though
