Uterus didelphys

My son was breech the majority of my pregnancy so I had to have a scheduled c-section and it was determined why he was breech while I was cut open. I have something called Uterus Didelphys which means I have 2 uteruses. Yes, that's as weird as it sounds. My dr said there's no way he ever would have flipped because there just wasn't the space or flexibility with all those uteruses in there. I am also a lot more likely to have breech babies in future pregnancies. It has yet to be determined if the other uterus is functional but we will investigate that later because if it is and I also have 2 cervixes than there is a very slight chance I could get pregnant while I'm pregnant in the future. That's kind of mind blowing.
Anyways, I wanted to share since this is weirdly fascinating to me but also to see if anyone else knows if they have this as well!

I don't have two uteruses but I do have a septate uterus where my uterus is basically "heart shaped" with a ligament type divider down the middle. So while it's not the same and comes with a different set of issues, I can commiserate with having a wonky uterus. They're much more common than you'd think, many people just go undiagnosed unless they start to have problems. Best wishes for your future pregnancies!

While I don't have this I have heard of it. Some women also have a second vagina to go along with their second cervix and uterus. Super crazy you could get pregnant while already being pregnant (assuming you have a second cervix as well). I'm constantly amazed with how our bodies function as women/mothers.

Yes I read about the second vagina that can go along with that and I'm pretty sure I don't have that...I mean, I would think I would know after 27 years if I have 2 vaginas haha
But yeah I would have thought they would have noticed this second uterus maybe in the dozens of ultrasounds I had but I guess they're pretty insignificant looking since it's kinda like 1 uterus just split in half so it took cutting me open and seeing it from above to really know

Seriously that's super cool. I, for one, want to know if you can actually get pregnant while you're pregnant. Keep us updated on that one!

Lurking from n 15.. My mom has this and that's why I was a c section. She also has 2 cervixes. And only one kidney. Pretty crazy! Her dr told her to use protection while pregnant w me because she could have gotten pregnant while pregnant, although unlikely that she would ovulate because of the hormones. Crazy!

Yes, I have a friend that has this as well. Both her babies were early and had to be delivered via c section due to it and they did determine her second uterus to be functioning, but like another stated unlikely to become pregnant while pregnant due to hormones.
