Hi everyone - I don't post often but please send some good vibes my way. I've been sick for over a week and my OB told me that my primary had to treat me and my primary basically said "you can come in but there is nothing we can do since you are pregnant". I have coughed so hard I'm pretty sure I bruised a rib and I've lost 4 lbs in the last week. I'm worried that it is bronchitis or something and my husband is worried about the baby. So I'm heading into urgent care - I just hope this doesn't expose me to a bunch of other things.
Just wanted to thank every one and give you all an update. I spent 2+ hours at the urgent care to be seen and told I do have bronchitis. But the dr (who was awful and lacked basic communication skills) decided that I needed to take a trip to a partner hospital "just to make sure the baby is ok because I don't know much about that". So at 5:30pm on NYE my husband and I drove 20 min into a not great area to sit in a L&D room and have the LO monitored for 30+ min.
The only bright side of this 4+ hour experience was hearing my baby's heart beat non-stop for over a half hour. It was intoxicatingly relaxing.
I've been on antibiotics now for 3 days and the cough is almost gone. Unfortunately, the side pain (not a bruised rib but strained oblique muscles) is now worse as it starts to heal. I've been told that the healing process for the muscle strain can take multiple weeks - I guess it is just a tiny glimpse into the pain from labor.
