Self pay cost?

Hi ya'll! I am 17 weeks with my first, and so excited! We are paying OOP for everything, and I was wondering if anyone else had done this, and if they had a rough estimate of what the L&D bill from the hospital was? We are trying to get an idea to budget for it, obviously. I've seen estimates from 18K to 30K, that's quite a range, to say the least. Any input? I am expecting an uncomplicated, (I hope!), vaginal birth.

Your dr and the hospital that he or she delivers at can give you estimates and payment plans. Even with insurance you would have typically paid a substantial portion of your financial contribution at this point so you might want to do that quickly.
