Boobs!

Hey ladies and all :)

Now we all love our boobs/breasts and want to take care of them especially during and after child birth (if your breast feeding).

I was just wondering for all those with past experience and knowledge on the subject- do you know of any natural supplements or remedies I could or should be taking now (at 6 months pregnant), to help my breasts with nutrition etc and also to help them recover after breastfeeding?.. My step mother likes to put in her comment all the time saying "your boobs are gonna sag" etc. So I would like to know if there is a recovery remedy that could help and would be good for the body naturally?

Thanks all! Xx

Nothing you can really do except cross your fingers that you don't shrink to a smaller size than you were before, or end up with saggy limp boobs.

  •  At 6 mnths it is kind of late to do something. Good time was at the very beginning of the pregnancy, just before breasts significantly increased in size - wear a bra all the time, even at night and moisturize your skin to prevent stretch marks. From now to the end of breastfeeding do the same to fool gravity.
Remember, that breasts are mostly fat, exercising would not help sagging. Skin would shrink eventually after breast tissue gets smaller, but there always be an excess. There could be some laser procedures as well as Ultherapy and skin firming creams which may improve skin condition. Surgery is also an option
  • Exercising definitely helps the underlying musclar tone. Lots of older ppl who don't BF have saggy boobs too but moisturize, exercise and hope for the best.

Ohh and if you get saggy boobs when you're older then just find amazing beautiful bras ;)

  • It's pregnancy-- not BF that causes any sagging.

  • Pectoral exercises can be extremely helpful in improving the appearance and feel of your breasts. Doing these exercises builds up the muscle underneath the fat and tissue, essentially giving you a little "boost" to lift and tone your chest. I guess use lotion, drink a lot of water, and work on staying fit are all things to try, although I'm pretty sure genetics are going to be the biggest factor you have to deal with.
  • Essentially gravity causes sagging. Pregnancy causes our breasts to enlarge and get heavier helping gravity to pull on supporting ligaments harder stretching them. Breastfeeding keeps our breasts heavy because they are filled with milk. Same result. So, pregnancy and breastfeeding increase sagging significantly. After we are done with BF milk producing tissue gets replaced with fat. If we loose a lot of weight breasts will loose it too. Result - empty, saggy breasts. Like I said before, skin does shrink, but to a limit. Exercising will enlarge pectoral muscles, but if you have an empty sack of stretched skin on top, will you call it a good looking breast?

It's both though. Either way, between my pregnancies, breastfeeding, and age the girls are not the same as they used to be. I SOOO want a lift at some point!

  • Same, but I don't want any scars

This is inaccurate. Hormonal changes and swelling in pregnancy is what causes the breast tissue change. That and age. I know women that have had many children and never breastfed. Their boobs sag as well-- its just a part of pregnancy, children and age. Folks are quick to blame BF, but I'm a BF-mom of two and my breasts are perkier than my friend who FF her kids (didn't want to BF and that is her choice/right). So, with respect, scientifically-- its not "both" but the act of being pregnant that is the cause of the boob tissue changes.

  • There is no pill you can take to prevent aging (which is what this is- wear and tear) if there were, everybody would know about it.

Exercise and staying hydrated. But mostly genetics. And hormones.

In other words, really? It'll be what it'll be.

It's pregnancy-- not BF that causes any sagging.

This. In my experience, I had minor to moderate breast growth when I was pregnant with my first, but the real shocker was how HUGE my breasts became when the mature milk came in. They looked like implants, and I went from an A cup to at least a D or DD. With my second I was actually in an E cup for over 6 months! The rapid growth caused a lot of stretch marks all over my breasts, which I had never experienced before. Even if I had chosen not to nurse at that point, the "damage" had already been done. I never stopped nursing when I became pregnant a second time, and now on pregnancy number 3 and I have been nursing pretty much non stop for the past 6 years. Who knows what my breasts will look like after I stop.

But honestly, although I know I'll be a little sad if they end up tiny wrinkled sad sacks, never in a million years would I do it any other way. Breastfeeding has been such an amazing journey for me and my children, I have really found it to be empowering.

Right?? I had crazy growth during pregnancy and crazy growth after milk came in. I went from a B to... I mean I stopped counting at DD and they've just kept growing since then. And I'm a tiny little person, was tiny through pregnancy and went right back to being wee after giving birth. Except those boobs. Holy sweet hannah.. There are literally no clothes that fit everywhere all at once.

I feel like I could do porn. At first i enjoyed them. Now they terrify me. I used to think small busted women had it worse than larger women. I'm starting to concede on that a little. I don't care if they deflate or not. I just want my Bs back when this is over. I went from not having to wear a bra all the time to not being able to FIND a bra that was comfortable. It absolutely sucks.

But yeah, i love breastfeeding. I would never have traded that.

  • I started pregnancy at a DD & now I'm an H/I-- I don't know if I can get any bigger? God I hope not. I love nursing, but after #3 weans these bad girls are getting a reduction & lift!

  • Your best bets are to workout your upper body to keep those muscles tight, get rid of excess weight after birth and buy a good push up bra. Supplements that tell you they will lift your breasts are a scam. I went from a C cup to a double E while BFing and back down and I have some sag, it's not awful though. You can't do much, so save for a breast lift if it is important to you. Of my friends, the ones that started with larger breasts have had a lot more sagging once everything goes back to "normal" than those who were a C or smaller to start.
