Anyone have ideas where to get cute affordable cloths at. I went to target today and bought 2 shirts for 26 dollars they were on clearance and then went to khols and bought a short for 6 dollars on clearance. But neither place had a big selection of over the top cute things.

Re: Maternity cloths

  • Online from Old Navy and thrift stores.
If you don't use the Cartwheel app from Target, you should.

  • Old navy online has a lot of good options... Same with target maternity online. Motherhood maternity is more expensive, but their tanks worked through the my entire last pregnancy where as my target and cheaper ones didn't.
  • I also found good deals at Old Navy and I found some good stuff at consignment stores too
  • Old Navy is where I get my tanks and all my maternity shirts last time. I still have them all bc they held up well. My jeans and dress pants are motherhood maternity. I couldn't find any others that I liked the fit, but I only had 3 pairs so I rotated and washed them a lot. This time I'm going to invest in some flowy summer dresses since my current job allows for that.
  • Check out Pink Blush Maternity online.... I discovered this site right after I had my son but totally plan on getting some of these this time around.   You know all those beautiful maternity photo shoot dresses?  Bingo!

  • Also my best luck was going into target/old navy and finding maternity on the clearance rack.

  • I went into a motherhood maternity outlet this weekend. On clearance they had buy 1, get 1 for 5 dollars.
  • I just ordered from Pink Blush Maternity too. Their stuff is beautiful.
  • A lot of stuff from Old Navy and Target will be stretched out and useless at the end of your pregnancy.  So as long as you're ok with that, but cheap.  If not, I bought online from Kohls (more brands than what they carry in stores and free returns).

  • Get a Bella Band https://www.ingridandisabel.com/bellaband-how-to-wear?gclid=Cj0KEQiAno60BRDt89rAh7qt-4wBEiQASes2tfW4ieXVLgrx9TWtySmj3hd1rNgj9Vqdn5_1RG3WGpMaAi428P8HAQ

Make sure its the ingrid and Isabel one, not the target one.  I was able to wear my work clothes all the way to 9 months with that thing!  It definitely helped keep my maternity clothes budget in check.  I am buying a 2nd and 3rd one for this time around.

  • I bought some great maternity dresses from swap.com, I definitely recommend you check it out. Free shipping over $50, and I think you can return up to 3 items from each order. I'm fine with thrift store shopping so it's like that but a bigger selection. You can sort by type of clothing, size, condition, and there's a picture of the item.

I've also got a few shirts and a pair of jeans from craigslist.

  • H&M has a line called MAMA and it has adorable (and inexpensive) maternity clothes. Sometimes the stores can have a slim selection but everything is online. I also loved Asos for maternity clothes.

  • I used the varage sale app and just paid about $40. I got two pairs of pants. 4 shirts and a dress. They are all in really good condition.

Do you want stuff for one preggo or two or more? If you don't mind used try eBay or local thrift stores. I got a lot of lightly used clothes that way. Especially good for me was to buy a "lot" on eBay in my size. Search eBay for "maternity lot size X".
Look for stuff from higher end brands because it will have more life left. And look for natural fibers. Those wear better than rayon overtime and you'll sweat less.

For new stuff Target, Old Navy, and Motherhood have new stuff that isn't too expensive but in my opinion their quality isn't great and the clothing isn't good for more than one or maybe two pregnancies. If you're only planning one preggo than that's just fine. Motherhood's Jessica Simpson line is a little better quality than their regular line. Motherhood's pull down to nurse tees and tanks come in a cotton blend and I continued to wear them postpartum to breastfeed.

Edit: one more idea is to try a size or two up in non maternity clothing. I was able to wear those in early pregnancy because it was hard to find executive professional maternity clothing. Higher end used brands were my friend.

  • Second-hand stores. Maternity clothes are expensive. People don't wear them long, so you can find a bigger selection still in good condition at secondary-hand places that are geared toward maternity/baby.
  • Do these bands just go over top your pants and that's it? I've wondered how this is different from a tank top.
  • I highly suggest finding a consignment shop. I got a ton of great stuff for super cheap and it's all in great condition because most of it gets used for only a couple months. Also Burlington, I found a ton of shirts and shorts there for less than $5
