Nicknames?

Does your baby have any nicknames yet? (Not so much the expected - like calling Charles "Charlie" or "Chucky" - but weird pet names that they've earned.)

Olive has a few. Ozone is one. Ball/O-Ball/Dough-Ball (which was her nickname in utero) and Guido, bestowed upon her when my brother in law remarked that all her back hair (lanugo from birth) made her look like a 40 year old Italian guy. When she's swaddled, she's Guido the Burrito.

    I like O-Zone.

DD has the expected Annie Bananie, but we also call her Bug, because of how she curls up on our chest, and Squeaks. She is also a noisy nurser -- it scared me to death for the first couple of weeks!

My son's name is Sebastian so we call him Bash, Bashie or papa and his aunt calls him seabass lol
  • Options
DD is very quiet and only makes little squeaks instead of crying so we call her little mouse.
  • Options
I call DD peaches and I have no idea why, haha!
  • Options
    We call DD peanut.

DD hasn't gotten the weird ones yet like her big brother has. So far she's Girly or sissy. DS has so many such as Dexter Doodle, Doodle Bug, Bug, Bugaboo, Stinker, Stink Bug, Bud/Buddy, Screech.

ETA: for a short time DS was also known as the incredible lobster boy. I feel like we're slacking with DD.

My newest LO isn't here yet, but we haven't revealed her name to many people so right now she just goes by G or baby burd which is a nickname from our last name. My older daughter was born end of September 2009 and my MIL got her a pumpkin costume for her first Halloween so her nickname became pumpkin and later I just called her punk and that stuck, she's 6 now and likes to go by her actual name or baby.

    Love your nicknames!

My DS has always been Sprout. This time around Lily's only nickname so far is "Lily Bug."
  • Options
Honey, sweetheart, Q-T (his initials), Q-man, little man, old man, squirt, snort, haha....
  • Options
Little bird (she opens her mouth like a bird when she's ready to eat), caterpillar (because she looks like one when we swaddle her), nugget, nut, my SO calls her his little darlin. Let the nicknames continue on! Hoorah!

We don't have one that works with her name: Ainsley, it doesn't exactly have the nickname vibe to it.

DD isn't here yet...scheduled c-section for Wednesday.  However my DS who is 3 calls his cousin, named Kaylee, Ms. Kae Bae.  It is the cutest thing ever!

ETA that no one calls her that so he made it up.

    Married - 10/10/2009

DS - Due 11/3/2012 born 9/28/2012 due to Severe Preeclampsia and HELLP Syndrome

    DD - EDD 12/30/15

It's like this with DD. There isn't really a way to shorten Ebba. Her middle name is Darlene though and I call her my darling or Ebba, Darling because of it.

Funny we call DD squish as well because she's so relaxed most of the time she squishes up when she sleeps.

Carlos' nickname is Carlitos. Except my DH says it very high pitched like "CAR-LEEEEETOES!" Drives me nuts.

I just call him "baby." ❤️

We call Cecily "Little Bird" and "Nugget" too!! My FIL calls her "Wee one", which I think is pretty adorable. Her nickname in the womb was "Turkey" and we still use that since she was born on Thanksgiving. Her name also gets shortened to "Ceci" or "Ces".

Baby isn't here yet (40+1), his name will be Oliver, but hubby calls him Olbo Baggins (like Bilbo Baggins). We aren't huge Lord of the Rings fans so I'm not sure where it came from. We also call our cat (Lilly) Libo Baggins! :s

I've called her baby bird since birth since she was only 4lbs and I fed her with a syringe like a baby bird. Now thst she's put on weight it's chunky monkey, or more commonly, munchkin.

That was LO's nickname in utero. We still use it sometimes. Brought her home in a jumper with a mouse on it. Sybil is super squirmy at night while she nurses, so we also call her squirmy wormy now.

When she was still in my belly and we didn't know the gender we called Averie Coco Puff, now that she's out she loves to cuddle and snuggle so we call her our little Snuggle Bug... Oh and Little Peanut because she's so sweet and tiny still☺️

Sweet pea and snuggle bunny. I do call him Hunter-boy a lot because of family nicknames for my dad and brother.
  • Options
I called Henry my Munchkin Man a few times and SO thought I was saying my Chicken Man. So keeps calling him Chicken Man and it's catching on. Poor little boy.

Ha! We call our little girl "squeaks" for the same reason! So cute!

I also call her missy moo or miss Kay. My son has about 20 nicknames at 2.9 so im sure there are more to come!

Squeaks, because she squeaks while she's sleeping!

My hubs calls Sophie Soph-Loaf or loaf of Soph. We are sleep deprived.
  • Options
We have squirmy, squeaks, smurf, rai rai. My niece likes to call her French bread for some reason lol
  • Options
I call Savannah my little ducky (because sometimes she looks like a tiny little ducky, especially when her hair is all fluffy after a bath) and princess, my SO calls her suga suga.

Since finding out early on that I was pregnant, we would refer to our baby as our little "raspberry pretzel." We got the name from my favorite dessert that my MIL would make. Little did we know, that little "raspberry pretzel" would turn out to be a girl. How fitting!
