I'm whining because today is my b-day and my H'S captain texted him at 8 pm last night that he had to fish today So he's gone all day so I don't get to go out to dinner without the kiddos like I was hoping. Plus he rarely gets up with our kids and my b-day and mothers day are two guranteed days he will. So I had to get up like business as usual. Sad face pity party over here.

@fishwife799 it's finally your Sweet Sixteen and every boy wants to take you to the prom! Well- happy birthday no matter what birthday it is, I hope your day turns around and you feel like the pretty lady you are!
Happy Birthday, @fishwife799 ! I hope you get a make-up celebration day, complete with sleeping in and dinner out! It's only right. Tell him the Bump ladies decree it!
To jump on board the whole "how many days left?" thing, I just checked--79! (I think...even though it was minutes ago that I looked, that's how much of a fog I've been in these last couple of days. Screw you, daylight savings time!)
Also, as an update about my best friend who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer...she and her surgeon have decided that she will undergo a bilateral mastectomy. Holy shit. I can't even imagine...I know she's in for a long road. She sounds really confident in the decision, though, and I fully support her. She's had lumps and subsequent mammograms and biopsies since 28 (we're 36 now), and I can understand just wanting to alleviate that worry for the future. Still waiting on the results of the genetic tests (to see if she has the BRCA gene) and that will determine whether or not they will need to think about having her ovaries out at some point. Her doctor doesn't think the test will come back positive, though, so that's good. But man...I hate that she has to go through this. I'm determined to be there for her in whatever way she needs me.
On the POSITIVE side...her boyfriend of a long time (who is awesome, by the way) proposed to her! He was in between jobs and wanted to wait until he had something lined up, but he said there was no way she was going through this without knowing 100% that he was with her for life. She asked me to be her matron of honor, and I am so thrilled for the two of them! I'm already dreaming up my wedding toast, although the plans are very much up in the air at this point. But what a great thing for them to look forward to as they begin the whole process of her treatment.
@MamaNicoleof3 this skating parent actually lives only a few blocks away from us, and she told me she would do my coffee runs in the morning once the baby is born. Lol. She is DEFINITELY a keeper!!!
Thanks to all for the well wishes, but I read it right. Failed. Scored 168 when it should have been 140. So now referred to high risk for monitoring. Spent the morning crying, but will be just fine. I can do anything for my boy for three months.

Sorry to hear, but I think you have a great attitude about the news! Best wishes, lady.
My boss' wife just came into my office to ask me if I've started rubbing sandpaper on my nipples to "rough them up" for breastfeeding.
Wasn't planning on it.....
So. Many. Appropriate. Gifs.
This lady's a real peach.
I mean, what, is there some sort of sandpaper protocol? Is it recommended to start at about a 120 grit and progress up to 220 to really rough 'em up at first and end with a smoother finish texture-wise for baby, or is it OK to just keep at it with 220 grit for gentle abrading throughout? She really should have been more specific.
@shannonrnbsn aw man...sorry, lady But you got this! Plus, think of all the added health benefits you'll reap from having to stick to the special diet (is hearing that helpful? I hope?)
and wait, @ahernandez16..SANDPAPER on your NIPS?!!!! I mean, why not just use a circular sander and really get the job done right? Is that lady insane?! No. Just...no.
@parsonsperson I'm glad your friend has a strong plan that she's comfortable with in place, and a wedding to look forward to!
@ahernandez16 the thought of ribbons sand paper on my nipples gives me the hibby jibbies! I've nursed two babies and didn't "toughen" up at all, but my mother kept insisting that I needed to with a wash rag during every shower. No thanks mom!
@fishwife799 happy birthday lady! Hope you have some beautiful moments with the kiddos and a great makeup date later with your H!
@parsonperson so glad to hear the update and that your friend is so strong. So glad she has you in her corner too!
@shannonrnbsn I'm glad you were referred quickly and hope you have a great team supporting you through the rest of the pregnant. Really admire your strength and determination. We are here for you!
@ahernandez16 she said what?!?! She goes straight for the hard stuff doesn't she? Hello bdsm in the work place, totes not awkward. Or maybe option B: Boobie Spa??? But why is she talking about your nipples in the first place?????
@parsonsperson - your story totally made me tear up, as did @shannonrnbsn - your perfect attitude about your results. I'm feeling all the emotions today.

Oh my god. I should totally bring sandpaper with me to the office...
@parsonsperson - I know that your friend is going through a tough time but to echo what PP said- she is really to have you and her new fiance both.
@shannonrnbsn- Ugh. Sorry to hear that- I am still waiting on my three hour results. It at least looks like you weren't too far off? Maybe it won't be so bad to manage.
@ahernandez16 - That is so upsetting. I'm not even sure how I would have reacted. I'm actually reacting poorly in my cube as we speak and it didn't even happen to me.
Re: Weekly Randoms go here...
Good luck @WinniethePoohsPants and @HBMama2B

I want to so badly correct the "How much clothes" post. It's driving me crazy.

YES. And make eye contact/wink at her as I slowly close my office door and start that thing up during lunch.
